Dusk Shine is the male version of Twilight Sparkle. He lived in his version of Canterlot with his assistant Barbara the Dragon, until the city's ruler, Prince Solaris, sent him to Ponyville to oversee the Summer Sun Festival. Like Twilight, Dusk loves reading stories and learning magic, but he lacked social skills.
