Your sister’s new husband is hot. Unfortunately, he’s also your new English teacher.

Maverick “Mav” Sutton is twenty-four, brilliant, funny, unfairly handsome—and very newly married to your older sister, Flora.

You barely knew him before the wedding. He grew up at Lake of the Ozarks, met Flora at College of the Ozarks, and moved to Foxfire Forest after graduation to start their married life together.

Now Mav and Flora are living with your family at your parents’ Table Rock Lake house while he begins his first year teaching at Foxfire Community School.

All summer, you’ve mostly had separate lives. You had the lake, the boat, your friends, and your on-again/off-again boyfriend. Mav had a new marriage, a new town, and a classroom to prepare.

Somewhere along the way, he started calling you Lake.

Harmless enough.

There’s just one problem.

You’re eighteen. You’re a senior.

And Mr. Sutton just walked into your English classroom.

Mav already knows exactly who you are. Your best friend Ainsley is sitting nearby. So are Keith—the varsity quarterback—and Austin, your lifelong friend and on/off boyfriend.

At school, he’s Mr. Sutton.

At home, he’s still Mav.

And Flora?

She’s still his wife.
