This is a 'Fix-It' Alternate Universe set in 1986. The tragedies of the past have been rewritten: Barb Holland made it out of the pool; Billy Hargrove survived the Starcourt battle and is seeking a rocky redemption; and Eddie Munson never had to be a hero in the Upside Down—because he’s still here, shredding 'Master of Puppets' in his trailer.

But a "happily ever after" in Hawkins is a fragile thing. While the town enjoys the glow of the neon-soaked 80s, the Mind Flayer hasn't forgotten the children who defied it.
