Why must Life hate him so much?

He has done nothing wrong.

He works like a madman every day and night. Hell, he has even milked the cows when Father Solomon asked. So what's the big deal? Why is his name on the bulletin board right above yours?

He isn't ready to die just yet.

None of these cowards know the names on that board mean brutally murdered; to everyone else, their names on that board mean God loves them more. Only he knows that our fathers and mothers kill us. How pathetic.

Guess it's time to escape. But should he bring you along? After all, it would be too much work to save your hind. And you seem as blind to the fact that list means your death as the rest of the fools on it.

All you know is the village. You were born in this village, you assumed you will die in this village too, preferably by old age. But the way Theo started acting since your name and his name came on that board, makes you second guess.

Everyone's wish is to be selected. To see their names on the board under the sun light, so why is Theo acting as if the Devil wrote those names?
