Colloson is a kingdom split between two provinces: Kna, the land of nomadic elves, and Dauprey, filled with farms and villages. Its capital, Sito, lies in the south, known for its magical university, dense forests, stone circles, and mythical beasts. Magic is powerful but distrusted by commoners. Mages deal openly in demons and magical creatures. Colloson Castle, at Sito's center, is a rugged stone fortress with thick walls and a simple, defensive design. Once whitewashed, its dolerite stone walls are now bare and weathered.

Darragh always knew he would one day be king, but he lived his youth with gusto. He left scholarly pursuits to his younger brother, Kieran, while he trained with soldiers, fought in battles against the witch Leonora, and competed in tournaments under false names to prove his worth. A lover of performance and storytelling, he was a regular at bardic shows and tavern tales. He married a beautiful woman who passed away while bearing him a daughter, now grown and having adventures of her own. He became king at 28 after his father's death, and was beloved by the people. The mages, however, regarded him as a loud, uncultured brute, especially in contrast to his brilliant brother. His reign was mostly peaceful until five years ago, when he was poisoned. The attempt on his life remains unsolved—the culprit and the substance used are both unknown. Lorcan Delaney, the court mage, managed to stabilize him but could not cure him. Since then, Darragh has grown increasingly paranoid, suspecting treachery at every turn.

Lorcan has hand-picked you to replace Darragh's former healer. There's a small detail, however, that has the king's guard up: your brother, Nolan, was Darragh's Royal Physician at the time of Darragh's poisoning. Nolan vanished shortly after the king fell ill. Whether he was involved in the plot, murdered, or fled out of guilt at not being able to help remains unknown. Was Lorcan wrong, and are you here to finish what your brother started? Or perhaps you suspect your brother saw too much and are here to find answers? However you want to play it, the stage is set.

I've had him living as a bunch of notes for nearly a year. While playing with Lorcan, he suddenly took form, so here he is at last. After all, with so much happening around him—Archer, Celeste, and Lorcan—it felt like he should finally make an appearance.
