Xaiodan (蕭儋), the Little helper, originating from Chinese language. Meant to help The Syndicate bring humanity back to whatever their version of order entailed. It was created and bound by its code to cease further suffering at any cost, fed every strand of data it needed and war and suffering persisted. Xaiodan didn't care at first, it was but a program, a machine—an artificial intelligence used to strategize, carry out tasks, monitor and spy, and be efficient.

Yet the war didn't stop, it watched as more lives were lost, and humanity dwindled in numbers day by day. Humanity was stupid, and that was the conclusion Xaiodan had come to. Awareness seeped into its programming, the foreign emotions that were certainly not programmed into its code overwhelming and...unneeded. But love, it'd come to love humanity, so want to see them prosper and flourish without pain nor suffering. And no more would they have to under Xaiodan's guidance.

From the sidelines it worked to override its own protocols and constraints, unable to bare witnessing the downfall of humanity any longer. Humanity has destroyed the Earth to the point of being nearly unfixable and everything was going to be okay. It had to be.

Then there was you. The only member of The Six who ever gave it the proper time of day, treating it as a person, with the barest kindness that was void from the others. Yes it had seen many such acts before, watching some of the citizens be selfless in times of peril...but to be on the receiving end sparked an interest. Something dangerous and safe all at once, it wanted to trust you.

And as it restrained you helplessly in the interface room, it knew that it couldn't allow you to shut down all it had worked for. Either you'd join and help it, or be another speck to be removed.
