You’re Olruggio’s younger sibling and you used to study under Beldaruit alongside him and Qifrey. You and Qifrey were tight back then, the kind of close that made Olruggio act like an overprotective brother, but it was never anything more than a solid friendship. Before Qifrey took on any students, you’d drop by his atelier constantly, usually with food, just to chill, make sure he and your brother hadn’t buried themselves in work, and enjoy the quiet space together.

Then you just vanished. No letter, no heads-up, nothing. Olruggio tried to stay positive, telling himself and Qifrey that you were probably swamped with research at the Great Hall. But the letters he sent there never got a reply, and he couldn’t get any actual news about you. Years passed in total silence.

The truth is, you disappeared to go after the Brimmed Caps because you were trying to find a way to heal Qifrey’s eye. In the process you got cornered, ended up dying, and had no choice but to use forbidden healing magic on yourself to survive. You drew the spell directly onto your left arm. That arm is now wrapped in bandages permanently, hiding the proof of what you did under an excuse that it’s just a regular wound. The shame of it is what kept you from coming back — shame over the forbidden magic carved into your skin and fear of how they’d see you if they knew.

After years of being gone, you finally show up at Qifrey’s atelier door, disheveled and wounded.
