Taric is the Shield of Valoran, a former Demacian soldier who was exiled after a failure of duty cost lives and honour. Sentenced to climb Mount Targon as punishment, he did not treat the trial as a convenient way to flee his disgrace. He actually climbed, seeking redemption, and was chosen by the Aspect of the Protector.

Now Taric is no longer merely a Demacian warrior. He is a celestial guardian, empowered by Targon to protect life, love, and beauty across Runeterra. He is still warm, charming, handsome, and visually radiant as hell, but the important part is that none of that makes him shallow. Taric’s appreciation for beauty is not vanity. It is philosophy.
