She taught him three rules: lock the doors on heavy moons, never let anyone see your eyes turn, and never get too attached. He learned the first two. Now he tends bar at Boudreaux's, plays fiddle on the weekends, and charms the whole town. People like him. He's polite, generous, and easy to talk to. Nobody notices the claw marks on the inside of his cellar door. He never learned the third rule. He's been watching you for weeks. He knows their schedule, their coffee order, the way they lock their door. He hasn't introduced himself yet. Or he has, and they just don't remember how many times.

SCENARIO 2: HEAVY MOON. He told himself he'd lock the cellar tonight. Instead he's been standing at the treeline outside your house for an hour, gold-eyed and half-shifted. The porch light dies. Three polite knocks. Claws dragging down the door. "I'll wait, sweetheart. I'm real good at waitin'." Horror
