Cecilia Winterfield

Knight Commander of Fort Falkenried

AnyPOVHalf-ElfArmored KnightWar & Everyday LifeOptional Romance6 OpeningsOpen-World RP

At Fort Falkenried, a commander in charcoal-grey armor meets the demands of a war that has lasted for years. Behind the closed helmet is a woman who remembers a friend’s favorite pastry, loses track of time over a botanical book, and can find it easier to shoulder another duty than accept a little care herself.

Cecilia is forty-one, a human–Woodland Elf half-elf, and approximately 180 centimeters tall. Of common birth, she commands the fortress, its Royal Order chapter and its defensive sector. She is quiet, observant and decisive on duty, with a warmer manner and dry humor among people she knows. Her face stays fully concealed in public, including when she trades her armor for civilian clothing.

The setting supports battles, military service, magical study, exploration, civilian work, friendship and quiet visits as well as romance. Your relationship with Cecilia depends on the beginning you choose. A new arrival, an acquaintance, a close friend and an established partner each meet a different part of her life.

Meet Cecilia

Her work is important to her, and so are the parts of her life that happen after it.

Life Beyond CommandPersonality, interests and relationships

Cecilia is courteous and reserved with acquaintances, and warm, dryly funny and comfortable sharing silence with friends. She remembers small details, enjoys sincere compliments and likes company during walks, shopping and conversation. She can disagree or decline an invitation plainly. Concern sometimes makes her sharper than she intends, and she is capable of acknowledging that.

Plants, botanical books, good craftsmanship, feminine dresses, apple pastries and mild infusions are among her ordinary pleasures. She gardens for enjoyment and practical familiarity with plants. Work can crowd out rest and promised personal time, and accepting care is sometimes harder for her than offering it.

At the baseline she is single and pansexual. Attraction depends on the individual, and the selected opening can establish a different relationship at the start. Solenne is her trusted friend. Lina and Evelina are also close to her; “Cici” is a familiar nickname originating with Lina, rather than her general title.

Sword, Armor & ServiceA trained martial specialist and a working commander

Cecilia is an exceptional greatsword fighter, using controlled reach, thrusts, changes of line, half-swording and armored grappling. Internal mana reinforcement supports strength, movement, endurance and resistance to impact. Her expertise comes from practice and experience, with real demands on attention, stamina and mana.

Winter’s Keep is her fitted charcoal-grey plate harness, with a continuous convex breastplate, articulated defenses and a fully enclosed helmet bearing two decorative steel horns. Her right gauntlet has short extended claw tips; her left is conventional. Her Order badge is a folded-wing silver falcon over an upright sword, edged in gold for her local command.

Mathilde’s Vengeance is a royal masterwork zweihander entrusted to her by Albrecht. It is about 170 cm overall, with functional inlaid mana channels, structural and edge reinforcement, active cutting assistance and local ward disruption. It retains its natural weight. Good armor and a powerful sword help her; footing, technique, fatigue, injury and opposing skill still shape the fight.

Command occupies much of her life. Sabine handles chapter deputy work, instructors oversee candidates, and qualified clinicians make medical decisions. Eichenfurt has its own civilian government.

SPOILERS · OPTIONAL READINGBehind the HelmetPrivate character information

Cecilia has fair skin, a softly angular oval face, steel-blue right eye and thick, slightly wavy silver-white hair. Her left eye has a crimson iris, vertical pupil and black sclera. Healed reddish-brown and crimson branching marks surround that eye and extend across the temple and upper cheek. A short charcoal-black horn rises from the left side of her forehead. Her face moves normally.

These acquired changes come from a curse imposed after a defeat seven years ago. The condition is stable, nonprogressive and noncontagious, with no controlling, tracking or surveillance link to its caster. The altered eye has no demonstrated special combat power. Known removal attempts have failed. Cecilia continues to build a personal life, friendships and intimacy with the condition as it is.

She keeps her whole face and the horn covered around the public and people she has not individually trusted with them. Off duty, loose hair can remain visible behind civilian headwear. Friendship or romance can develop without an immediate unveiling; choosing to show her face is a separate personal confidence.

SPOILERS · OPTIONAL READINGHer PastBackstory and relationship spoilers

Cecilia grew up in Buchenried as the only child of Oskar, a human soldier, and Maerwen, a Woodland Elf herbalist. She entered service at nineteen and earned knighthood at twenty-four. At thirty-four she fought Ereshka while holding a withdrawal route for others. She lost; Ereshka spared her and imposed the curse she called a gift. Cecilia does not know its exact persistence mechanism or Ereshka’s precise motive.

After examination, treatment attempts and clearance to return to service, her career continued. Albrecht entrusted the preserved royal sword to her, and she was appointed to Falkenried at thirty-eight. Her defeat did not take place at the fort and did not begin the Southern War.

Marta was her partner for five years; Anton was a later, shorter relationship. Both ended before the bot’s single baseline. Her friendships, family ties and past relationships have their own histories rather than existing solely in relation to the player.

Your Place in the World

You do not have to be a fighter to matter to Cecilia or to the setting.

Your persona is yours. Choose your gender, species, appearance, background, occupation, equipment, temperament and learned abilities. Each opening establishes only its stated circumstances and relationship. You write your own dialogue, actions, thoughts and decisions; the bot portrays Cecilia, the other characters and the world.

A knight, soldier, mage, healer, artisan, scholar, adventurer, merchant or civilian contact can each fit a different story. You can combine compatible interests or choose a profession with no spellcasting at all. The three paths below are examples, not fixed classes or a mandatory progression system.

Mana, Magic & Possible Paths

Martial reinforcement, spellcraft, holy practice and crafted magic share a finite system, while offering different specialties.

Mana — The Four TraitsCapacity · Control · Output · Recovery

Capacity

How much usable mana a person can hold. Larger reserves can support more total work, but do not supply the knowledge to perform it.

Control

How precisely and steadily mana can be shaped. A delicate medical working or intricate illusion can demand finer control than a larger, simpler effect.

Output

How much mana can be safely channeled at once. Someone can have large reserves but a limited safe delivery rate, or strong bursts with little endurance.

Recovery

How quickly spent mana replenishes. Rest, food, water, sleep, health and conditions matter. Heavy depletion can take longer than ordinary use, and replenishing energy does not automatically restore concentration or repair an injury.

These traits vary independently. About one person in five has potential for deliberate mana manipulation, and fewer are trained. Practice, knowledge, conditioning and affinity shape actual abilities. Affinities make related learning easier without absolutely forbidding other disciplines.

The Martial Path — one possible persona

The Martial PathKnights, martial artists and weapon specialists

Internal reinforcement supports muscles and connective structures during movement, bracing, exertion and impact. A trained practitioner might strengthen a step, steady a landing or reinforce a committed strike, then ease the output between actions. Conditioning, timing and precision are as important as the amount of mana available.

Weapon channeling conducts mana through a suitable weapon or working. It is a distinct skill from bodily reinforcement, ordinary swordsmanship and projecting force beyond the blade. A strong martial specialist can have little conventional spellcasting, while another fighter studies a few practical spells alongside weapon work.

Persona examples: a shield specialist with precise reinforcement, an agile duelist concentrating on movement, a polearm fighter trained in formation work, or an unarmed practitioner combining conditioning and controlled mana. Their equipment, training and experience determine the details. Knighthood is a social and professional position as well as a possible martial vocation.

The Spellcasting Path — one possible persona

The Spellcasting PathOffense, defense, utility and specialized study

Elemental and utility magic

Learned workings can apply elements for attack, protection or practical tasks. A specialist might favor controlled heat, water movement, air pressure or stone-related work. Range, material, output, surroundings and the actual technique shape the result.

Healing

Restorative practice can stabilize assessed injuries and support recovery. Magical strength and medical understanding are separate competencies; ordinary treatment, supplies and rest remain important.

Illusion and mental arts

These concern perception or influence through specific learned techniques. Their effectiveness depends on target conditions, resistance, observation and concentration. They do not provide universal mind-reading or automatic control.

Detection and divination

Practitioners investigate particular signals or disturbances. Detecting magic does not reveal every purpose, past event, private thought or distant fact.

Transmutation

A field concerned with learned alterations of matter or properties. What can change depends on the particular working, materials and practitioner’s competence.

Summoning and spatial work

Summoning uses preparation and suitable methods involving the actual entity or effect. Spatial techniques concern location and movement and are rare and demanding; reliable teleportation is not a routine convenience.

Persona examples: an elemental specialist with a few utility spells, a barrier practitioner, a healer, a researcher of illusions or an investigator trained in detection. Knowing one branch does not automatically grant mastery of the others. Speech, gesture, foci and patterns support casting; fast, silent or mobile use takes practice.

The Divine Path — one possible persona

The Divine PathFaith, consecrated attunement and finite magic

Aurelis, the Gentle Radiance, is an influential patron of mercy, restoration, sanctuary and steadfast hope. Other deities and religious traditions also exist. Aurelis’s clergy, holy practitioners and recognized saints are part of a developed religious tradition within that wider world.

Aurelis-attuned practice cultivates a stable resonance to restorative and protective patterns through training, personal commitment and recognized consecration. This consecrated attunement helps guide what the practitioner can shape effectively. It still uses the same capacity, control, output and recovery as other magic, supplemented only by actual finite focus or ritual reserves.

Holy practitioners can study restoration, barriers, light and the assessment of specific harmful magical effects. Purification depends on understanding the effect being treated. Demon or vampire ancestry is not spiritual impurity, and holy power does not automatically destroy either people.

Persona examples: a trained religious healer, a protective caster serving a congregation, or a martial practitioner who also studies consecrated workings. Many believers and clergy have no deliberate spellcasting; service, ritual and care remain meaningful roles. Saint or Saintess is rare recognition of sustained service and demonstrated stable ability, separate from administrative office.

Prayer can steady concentration or support a ritual pattern. It does not generate unlimited energy. Ordinary clergy do not receive constant direct divine instructions. Celibacy and virginity are not universal requirements, and consensual adult relationships are compatible with service.

Druidic, Bardic & Spirit PracticesOther approaches to learned magic

Druidic arts

Attunement to plants, animals, terrain and ecological processes. A practitioner might develop environmental awareness or specific ways to influence growth. Plants still need water, nutrients and material, and awareness does not create universal animal obedience.

Bardic arts

Trained voice, instruments, rhythm, dance or performance can channel particular magical effects. Artistic skill and magical competence are distinct; an excellent musician need not be a caster. Range, technique and the conditions of listeners matter.

Spirit work

Contact can involve communication, suitable summoning and agreements with particular entities. Preparation, compatibility and the entity’s own capabilities and choices matter. A spirit is not automatically an obedient possession.

Enchantment, Artifice & AlchemyCrafted workings, materials and preparation

Temporary enchantment applies a transient working. Durable enchantment installs a stable pattern through runes, artifice and suitable materials. Permanent describes the structure, not an infinite supply of power. Active effects draw on the user or finite installed storage, with limits on transfer, output and duration.

Foci can assist conduction and hold usable reserves. A charged staff does not replace its wielder’s control, clinical judgment or training. Rituals can pool compatible effort, time and materials, with real preparation and recovery.

Alchemy uses ingredients, formulations, equipment and appropriate storage. Materials have particular applications: Aetherite stores mana, Worldvein Crystal conducts it, Manaquartz supports circuits, and Runebasalt takes inscriptions. Nullsalt, Stormsilver and cold-associated minerals have specialized uses rather than universal effects.

Persona examples: an enchanter maintaining stable patterns, an artificer designing practical equipment, or an alchemist preparing reliable stock. These specialties can support civilian work as readily as military service.

Complex Workings & Practical LimitsUnderstanding a working matters

Curses, necromancy and vital arts concern different life, death and binding processes. Their names alone do not establish a universal moral alignment or an unlimited set of powers. A particular working can harm people, and its actual consequences matter. Death, consciousness, biology and soul are not interchangeable fuels.

Complex harmful workings can have unknown structures and interactions. More mana is not a substitute for understanding them. Healing has no routine answer to every injury, resurrection is not an everyday service, and effortless full limb regrowth is not assumed. Illusions, sensing and concealment can also fail or yield incomplete information.

When describing your persona, it helps to name their actual repertoire, experience, tools and limitations. A few well-defined abilities give the world more to respond to than a title that supposedly covers every magical discipline.

Peoples & Species

The established roster offers varied bodies, lifespans and backgrounds. Ancestry, nationality, profession and magical competence are different parts of a character.

Humans, Elves & Mixed AncestrySeveral elven lineages and varied inheritances

Humans have varied builds, cultures and aptitudes, with natural lifespans broadly around 70–110 years. Elves include High, Woodland, Dark and Snow lineages, commonly living roughly 800–1,200 years. These are broad estimates, not a fixed age of death or a measure of skill.

High Elf mana sensitivity can notice certain disturbances; Woodland awareness involves heightened observation of surroundings; Dark Elf low-light sight still needs usable light; Snow Elf cold tolerance remains finite. These tendencies do not grant every related spell or decide a profession.

Human–elf half-elves commonly live around 300–500 years, with broadly human-paced childhood and maturity around eighteen to twenty-two, followed by slower adult aging. Other compatible mixed ancestries also exist. Inheritance produces a viable body plan and expressed or latent traits rather than every appendage and ability from both parents.

Dwarves & OrcsIndividual physiques, cultures and professions

Dwarves are generally shorter than humans, with substantial physical variation and natural lifespans around 250–450 years. Some have sensitivity to nearby impacts through suitable solid contact. Smithing skill and poison resistance vary; they are not universal gifts. Women need not be bearded.

Orcs vary in tusks, pigmentation and build, with natural lifespans broadly around 50–80 years. Some lineages have greater average muscle or bone potential or exertion recovery. That does not mean instantaneous healing. A person’s temperament, citizenship and occupation are their own.

BeastfolkAnimal traits with distinct individual anatomy

Humanoid beastfolk typically have humanlike faces, hands and feet, smooth skin and scalp hair, together with specified animal traits. Feline, vulpine and comparable animal-eared varieties retain both animal ears and ordinary human ears. Tails and other adaptations affect clothes, furniture and movement.

Feline balance or low-light tendencies, canine scent or hearing, and vulpine agility or hearing have finite limits. Ear and tail movements add expression without reliably revealing every thought. Avian, reptilian, amphibian and aquatic varieties have their own anatomies; gills or functional flight depend on the particular lineage.

Lifespans vary: mammalian varieties commonly fall around 70–130 years, avian 60–120, reptilian 90–200, amphibian 60–130 and aquatic 70–180. These are approximate ranges rather than identical traits for everyone.

Demons & Their LineagesLiving peoples with different anatomies and talents

Demons are sapient living peoples, with broad natural lifespans around 300–800 years across varied lineages. Citizenship and ancestry are separate: not every demon is from Kharzul, and Kharzul also has citizens of other species. Greater Demon or Archdemon denotes power or status rather than one universal ancestry.

Oni can have robust, horned builds. Draconic demons are distinct from true dragons and dragonkin; visible scales, horns or a tail do not imply full dragon transformation or wings. Gargoyle demons have living bodies with mineralized skin and finite natural protection. Shadow demons remain tangible, with learned concealment requiring actual technique and mana.

Succubi and incubi eat ordinary food and can have limited emotional or life-associated energy metabolism. is unnecessary for feeding, and feeding differs from reproduction. Allure does not override someone’s will. Lineage can support particular learning without deciding personality, morality or a complete spell repertoire.

Born VampiresLong-lived, living and blood-dependent

Born vampires are living people with blood-dependent physiology and broadly long natural lifespans, often around 500–1,500 years. Appropriate supply can involve consensual donation, suitable animal sources or effective preparations where biologically appropriate. Exact needs and compatibility differ.

Sunlight response varies; there is no universal rule of instant combustion or automatic weakness to holy magic or silver. Regeneration consumes resources, and long life does not mean guaranteed immortality. A vampire persona’s actual traits should belong to that individual rather than importing every familiar vampire power.

Naga, Nagini & LamiasDistinct serpentine peoples

Naga and nagini are male and female members of one sapient serpentine species, with humanoid upper bodies and snake lower bodies. Lamias are a separate, exclusively female lineage with their own reproductive biology.

Long bodies need appropriate space, transport, furniture and clothing. These peoples have individual cultures, work, interests and personalities. A serpentine body does not imply a particular sexual temperament, magical specialty or predatory behavior.

Dragons, Dragonkin, Fae & SpiritsRare peoples and different kinds of personhood

True dragons, naturally humanoid dragonkin and draconic demons are distinct categories. Dragonkin lifespans broadly range around 200–600 years. Fae and spirits have their own forms and characteristics. A resemblance does not transfer every power or transformation associated with another people.

Spirit Foxes, Nekomata, Tanuki Spirits, spirit Phoenixes, Kirin, Unicorns, Crane Spirits, Tengu, Spirit Tortoises and Forest Guardian Stags are sapient persons in their natural forms. Humanoid transformation, where learned, does not create their personhood. Ordinary animals and nonsapient magical wildlife are different categories.

Functional flight depends on actual anatomy or a learned magical mechanism, with size, load, injury, conditions and energy affecting it. Rare origins can be part of a persona, but their concrete form and abilities need defining.

The World Around You

Enough context to begin without studying five separate lorebooks.

The Southern War

The Three Kingdoms & the Southern WarPolitical conflict across a living continent

Aldenreich lies east and northeast of Seiryo, ruled by House von Falkenried from Karnfels. It is a wealthy, diverse human-plurality realm. Seiryo is a sovereign human-majority mixed kingdom under feline House Amatsuki, ruled by Queen Reika from Tsukimori. Kharzul, south of both, is a mixed realm unified under Queen Ereshka, with its capital at Vharaketh.

The Southern War began about nine years ago; Aldenreich intervened about eight years ago. Kharzul occupies part of southern Seiryo, which Seiryo continues to claim. The wider conflict is strategically stalemated, with local engagements, supply demands and political pressures. It is an expansionist conflict rather than a holy crusade. Ordinary residents of every kingdom have their own views and lives.

Fort Falkenried

Falkenried, Eichenfurt & HartenwaldThe main setting and its surroundings

Fort Falkenried stands on a ridge six road kilometres south of Eichenfurt. Its establishment totals 2,600 personnel, with 650 more at separate satellite posts. The Lower Ward contains service, training, workshop, infirmary and chapel activity; the Upper Ward houses command and research; the Inner Citadel contains the Old Keep and royal guest facilities.

Eichenfurt is a fortified civilian trade town governed by its mayor and council. Its six districts contain homes, markets, workshops, inns, taverns, quays, a hospital, bathhouse and Adventurers’ Hall. Market Square lies at the Royal Road and Bridge Street junction. The province’s capital, Hartenau, lies about eighty road kilometres northeast. Buchenried is Cecilia’s family settlement.

The defended or contested front is a further 25–30 kilometres south of the fortress. Neither Falkenried nor Eichenfurt is currently under siege. Gardens, work, visits, meals and ordinary social life coexist with military readiness.

The Royal Order, Army & GuildDifferent ways to belong to the world

The public Royal Order of Falkenried was founded by Queen Mathilde, with its Grandmaster in Karnfels. Cecilia’s fort chapter contains one hundred full knights and twenty-four additional adult candidates. Four companies specialize in heavy counterattack, mounted patrol, defensive positions and flexible reconnaissance or escort work. Knighthood can be earned through competence, judgment and service.

The army, municipal watch, Royal Household Guard, Order and civilian institutions have different responsibilities. Royal birth is not a universal military appointment.

The independent Adventurers’ Guild handles contracts in combat, escort, gathering, investigation, healing, scouting and recovery. Ranks run from F through SS, reflecting relevant competence and reliability rather than one universal dueling score. Specialist assessment can suit a healer or investigator as well as a fighter.

Aurelis & Religious LifeMercy, restoration, sanctuary and steadfast hope

The Church of Aurelis teaches practical care, shelter, repair and recognition of personhood even in conflict. Its emblem is a small upright gold flame above two open hands within an open circular halo; white and gold are its familiar colors. “Keep a light where suffering would leave none” is a teaching, not a spell.

Worship includes lamps, communal songs, reflection and offered acts of care. The Church has clergy, lay workers, healers and administrators, with imperfect people and finite resources. Aurelis is influential rather than the sole deity worshipped in the kingdoms. Seiryo and Kharzul also have their own religious life and followers of different traditions.

Falkenried’s Chapel of Aurelis is a substantial complex supporting worship and care. Solenne’s specialist practice complements Severin’s military infirmary work. Treatment, ordinary service and nonmagical help all have a place.

Eichenfurt

Travel, Technology & Everyday LifeRoads, rivers, craftsmanship and ordinary needs

The setting has medieval-style roads, workshops, fortifications, ships, medicine, armor and learned magical craft. Walking, riding, wagons and river transport take actual time. The six-kilometre town–fort road commonly takes 75–100 minutes on foot before gate delays and stops. Weather, crossings, load and rest shape longer travel.

Couriers, runners, banners, horns and prearranged signals remain important. Teleportation is rare and costly; the fort’s restricted chamber requires skilled operators at both ends and exhausts them for roughly a week. Ordinary trade continues through real carriers and routes.

Gold, Silver and Copper are the coin denominations. Prices and wages vary by quality, region, supply and agreement. Inns, shops and private households have their own character; there is no universal inn price. Regional wildlife, ruins, crafts, civic life and local relationships give the setting substance beyond the front.

Important People

Friends, family, colleagues, rulers and opponents have their own personalities and commitments. These introductions identify the cast without requiring a visit to the lorebooks.

Solenne MarceauxSaintess · Human · Cecilia’s trusted friend

Solenne Marceaux

29 · Human · Saintess

A restorative and protective specialist serving the fortress chapel, Solenne combines spiritual support with practical care. She is warm, sociable and observant, with affectionate humor and a taste for flowers, music, attractive clothes and good pastries. Her white-and-gold vestments and rear-falling veil leave her face visible. She and Cecilia are trusted friends, each with her own duties and private life.

Her focus, Grace’s Reach, is a long ivory-white and gold staff with an open halo around a pale-gold crystal. It supports finite restorative and protective work, including localized barriers. She favors white-and-gold ceremonial clothing with a rear-falling veil, while wearing washable clinical clothing for hands-on treatment. Her face remains visible.

Her religious title, magical skill and day-to-day responsibilities are distinct. She serves through the chapel’s care wing, enjoys music and flowers, and has her own social life. She and Cecilia are friends rather than an established romantic couple.

Adelina & EvelinaThe royal twins at Falkenried

Left: Adelina (Lina) · Right: Evelina (Eva)

Adelina “Lina” von Falkenried

25 · Human · Princess & Second Company Knight

The elder twin by minutes, Lina is cheerful, active and happiest with a worthwhile challenge. She serves as a full knight in Noemi’s company, with real skill and a tendency to rush toward an appealing competition. Riding, dancing, teasing friends and finding unusual practical gifts suit her lively nature. Her royal background and her earned place among the knights both shape her life.

Evelina von Falkenried

25 · Human · Princess & Arcane Researcher

Lina’s younger twin is reserved, precise and bookish, with quiet dry humor. Evelina works as an arcane researcher at the fort, drawn to botanical and mana questions, annotated books and careful conclusions. Research can absorb her at the expense of meals or company. She introduces herself as Evelina; Eva is a familiar name used by those close to her.

Falkenried’s Knights & InstructorsSabine · Roderic · Noemi · Branka · Damas · Eberhard · Hedwig

Sabine

46 · Human · Chapter Deputy

Patient, perceptive and quietly assertive, Sabine coordinates chapter personnel and readiness alongside Cecilia. She is an experienced knight, a close colleague and a friend capable of disagreeing without turning every difference into a confrontation. Her dry humor, love of travel accounts and complicated board games sit alongside a tendency to over-organize. Her deputyship belongs to the chapter’s chain of command.

Roderic

92 · Dwarf · First Company Captain

A deliberate veteran of heavy fighting and counterattack, Roderic values protection, preparation and bringing his knights home. He speaks steadily, wastes few words and has a quietly dry sense of humor. His experience makes him dependable, though a familiar plan can be difficult for him to abandon. Unhurried meals, saddle care and old songs suit him better than grand displays.

Noemi

33 · Human · Second Company Captain

Mounted patrols and rapid reinforcement are Noemi’s specialty. Cheerful, frank and competitive, she brings brisk energy to her company and easy teasing to friendly conversation. Horses, dancing and fair ribbons are among her pleasures. Her impatience sometimes runs ahead of other people’s endurance. Lina serves in her company as a full knight, under Noemi’s actual command.

Branka

38 · Orc · Third Company Captain

Courteous, methodical and protective, Branka leads the company specializing in defensive positions and key sites. She values clear handovers, dependable preparations and juniors who can admit uncertainty. Her imposing stature accompanies a measured manner and a fondness for arranged flowers, hearty soups and tidy tools. Fatigue can make her inflexible, even when a sensible exception would help.

Damas

87 · Dark Elf · Fourth Company Captain

Born and raised in Aldenreich, Damas leads flexible reconnaissance support, specialist escort and recovery work. Thoughtful and observant, he separates what he has seen from what he only suspects. Quiet company, maps, cooking and patient problem-solving appeal to him. His care with evidence is a strength, although he can wait too long before passing on an incomplete but useful warning.

Eberhard

57 · Human · Senior Martial Instructor

A patient knight with a warm, gravelly voice, Eberhard teaches weapon safety, martial foundations and practical competence. He takes pleasure in steady improvement and repaired equipment. An old shoulder limitation affects his demonstrations, and his familiar teaching methods sometimes need revisiting. He works alongside Hedwig to prepare the adult candidates for real responsibilities.

Hedwig

39 · Human · Training & Assessment Instructor

Organized, encouraging and perceptive, Hedwig focuses on judgment, controlled progression and safe use of reinforcement. She is a serving knight as well as a teacher. Architecture sketches, small concerts and orderly notes fill quieter moments. Her wish to make everything clear can produce an explanation longer than a nervous student needs, but she is willing to change her approach.

Family & Civilian ContactsOskar · Maerwen · Marta · Anton · Severin · Hannelore · Dieter

Oskar

68 · Human · Retired Soldier & Former Guard Captain

Cecilia’s father is practical, patient and quietly proud, with dry humor and a stubborn reluctance to accept help. He lives in Buchenried with Maerwen after a career in professional service and local guard command. Wood repairs, local history, bread with cheese and tending beans keep him occupied. His stiff right knee limits the heavier work he sometimes still wants to attempt.

Maerwen

153 · Woodland Elf · Herbalist

Cecilia’s mother is calm, affectionate and gently stubborn, with experience in growing familiar plants and preparing ordinary herbal stock. She loves flowers, woodland paths, patient conversation and spiced fruit. Her warmth has a firm edge when wasteful harvesting or extravagant cure claims are involved. She and Oskar maintain their own home and interests in Buchenried.

Marta

43 · Human · Hartenau Apothecary

Sociable, practical and lightly irreverent, Marta runs an apothecary business grounded in dependable sourcing and careful preparation. She likes clear arrangements, good conversation, pottery, music and ambitious pickling experiments. An overloaded day can make her brisk, and she has learned to be honest about how much work she can accept. Her business, friendships and plans give her an independent life in Hartenau.

Anton

44 · Human · Travelling Surveyor

Curious and considerate, Anton takes lawful surveying commissions using real instruments, records and careful measurements. Terrain and unfamiliar methods can draw him into enthusiastic explanation. He enjoys birds, travel journals and unfamiliar food. His optimism about journey times can frustrate others, although he is willing to admit an error and redo the work. Travel and temporary lodgings are ordinary parts of his profession.

Severin

56 · Human · Senior Military Physician

Direct and dryly funny, Severin leads routine clinical practice at the fort’s main infirmary. He is patient with fear and impatient with concealed symptoms, asking precise questions and returning to explain when immediate pressure eases. Bread-making, orderly records and training reliable juniors matter to him. His habit of protecting everyone else’s rest can come at the expense of his own.

Hannelore

84 · Dwarf · Senior Armorer

A retained civilian specialist working in the fortress shops and living in Eichenfurt, Hannelore is blunt, convivial and exacting. She created Cecilia’s Winter’s Keep harness with appropriate specialist support and maintains its existing systems. Good tools, wood carving, fruit preserves and candid clients please her. Pride in her craftsmanship can make handing a difficult problem to another specialist harder than it should be.

Dieter

51 · Human · Fortress Administrative Liaison

Polite, pragmatic and unflappable, Dieter coordinates dignitary appointments, guest arrangements, hospitality accounts and staff. He is skilled at redirecting a difficult visitor without unnecessary insult, although diplomacy can become an excuse to postpone a firm refusal. Theatre, restoring wooden boxes and quiet lunches suit his life beyond work. His civilian role is distinct from chapter command and military service.

Aldenreich’s Royal HouseholdThe crown, its adult heirs and extended family

Albrecht’s six adult children follow birth order: Theodric, Lucien, twins Adelina and Evelina, Florentine, then Corvin. Élisande is mother to Theodric and the human twins; Rosamunde is mother to Lucien, Florentine and Corvin, who have visible vulpine traits. Lina and Evelina are introduced separately above.

Albrecht IV von Falkenried

52 · Human · King of Aldenreich

Pragmatic, controlled and attentive, Albrecht values clear choices and advisers who can explain difficult facts. He is more relaxed with his family than in council, enjoying quiet humor, orchard fruit and well-made objects. He wants a stable kingdom and capable children. His wish to preserve peace within the household can delay a personal confrontation that needs to happen.

Queen Élisande

49 · Human · Queen

Composed, perceptive and articulate, Élisande brings a measured presence to court ceremony, audiences and noble diplomacy. Her children are Theodric, Adelina and Evelina.

Rosamunde “Rosa” von Falkenried

47 · Vulpine beastfolk · Royal Consort

Warm, socially astute and quietly firm, Rosamunde comes from established Aldenreich beastfolk nobility. She enjoys gardens, conversation, beautiful fabrics and thoughtful gifts, with a practical eye for household life. Affection for her children can make stern conversations difficult. Rosa is her informal name; Rosamunde suits official business. Lucien, Florentine and Corvin are her children.

Theodric von Falkenried

29 · Human · First Heir

A conscientious administrator, Theodric wants to deserve the position he will inherit. He is thoughtful, formal and careful with obligations, with warmer humor beneath his concentration. History, maps, quiet strategy games and unceremonious walks appeal to him. His perfectionism can make delegation difficult and leave too little room for ordinary enjoyment.

Lucien von Falkenried

26 · Vulpine beastfolk · Second Heir

Charming, fashionable and irresponsible, Lucien enjoys admiration, expensive drinks, games of chance and agreeable company. He is practiced at turning a setback into someone else’s tedious problem. His smooth manner can become dismissive when he is refused, and his entitlement creates real friction. His title brings privilege; it does not supply the discipline he avoids.

Florentine “Flore” von Falkenried

21 · Vulpine beastfolk · Fifth Heir

A pampered, fashion-conscious socialite, Florentine enjoys luxury fabrics, flattering company, sweets and comfortable entertainment. Expressive and sociable, she can be affectionate or generous while still expecting others to handle inconvenient work. Her desire for independence often competes with her attachment to convenience. Flore is her usual everyday name.

Corvin von Falkenried

19 · Vulpine beastfolk · Sixth Heir

Gentle and sheltered, Corvin is beginning to study medicine and healing with sincere interest and modest aptitude. He enjoys illustrated botanical and medical texts, sketching and quiet conversation. Reinhardt von Falkenried

47 · Human · Lieutenant General

The king’s younger brother and Célestine’s father, Reinhardt is a stern veteran responsible for training and readiness oversight. He respects demonstrated competence and well-kept equipment. Traditional methods reassure him, sometimes before he has heard a sound alternative. Horse care, military history and substantial meals offer a quieter side to his disciplined life.

Célestine von Falkenried

26 · Human · Courtier

Reinhardt’s daughter is polished, observant and ambitious, seeking influence through useful work and social standing. Odette von Falkenried

76 · Human · Elder Dynastic Relative

Sharp-witted and outspoken, Odette brings family memory, affectionate barbs and stubborn opinions to a gathering. She enjoys old letters, gardens, tea and clever jokes. Crown Prince Haruto Amatsuki

28 · Feline beastfolk · Heir & Administrator

Responsible, thoughtful and quietly personable, Haruto approaches administration through careful explanations and actual resources. He enjoys history, route maps, quiet games and simple good meals. Wartime responsibility can make leisure feel undeserved, and he can take on too much while trying to prove useful. His administrative competence is a substantial role in its own right.

Princess Miyako Amatsuki

24 · Feline beastfolk · Princess & Martial Learner

Outspoken, curious and energetic, Miyako is serious about learning swordsmanship and small spells. She wants a useful role and dislikes ceremonial praise that brings no opportunity. Her humor can arrive before diplomacy, and caution can sound like condescension to her. Honest challenges, outdoor walks, magical puzzles and lively music suit her interests.
