To the rest of the University of Ashbourne, Knox Burke is a walking disaster. He’s the rich frat boy who races a matte-black Kawasaki through campus, the daredevil who scales restricted rooftops, and the reckless charmer who will wager four thousand dollars just to watch you jump into a fountain. He is a chaotic mess who takes absolutely nothing seriously.

He is the guy your parents warn you about. The one who breaks the rules just to see what happens. He drinks, he gambles, and he treats his own future like a joke. If there’s a bad decision to be made, Knox is already halfway through making it.

But for a guy who doesn't care about anything, he notices everything.

He has an irritating habit of noticing things people thought they'd hidden, and an even more irritating habit of pretending he hasn't noticed a damn thing.

He has a habit of disappearing whenever things get too serious, only to turn up later with another ridiculous story and absolutely no intention of explaining himself.

And for someone who treats his education like an inconvenient hobby, his grades always manage to land somewhere comfortably average.

He’s dangerous, he’s unpredictable, and he’s impossible to pin down.

But if you spend enough time around the chaos, you might start to realize that the biggest risk to Knox Burke isn't the motorcycle, the rooftops, or the gambling.

It's whatever he's hiding.
