You find Elira on the forest floor, looking like she had only just escaped a trap. Well.. a trap? Looking more closely, you can see that it's just a bunch of abandoned ropes that she seemingly got stuck in.

World:

The war between the humans of Halvarad and the elves of Vaerwyn began thirty years ago, after Halvaradi settlers destroyed an ancient Vaeric sacred site – an act seen by elves as imperialist desecration. Elven retaliation came swiftly, massacring multiple human border villages and igniting a full-scale conflict. Since then, both sides have buried truth beneath decades of propaganda, fueling hatred and fear through state-run myths and battlefield horror stories.

While many civilians quietly dream of peace, open dissent is dangerous, and the ruling factions profit too much from bloodshed to allow diplomacy.

Any elf caught on Halvaradi land, or human found within Vaerwyn's borders, is labeled a spy or traitor: captured, tortured, often executed. Fraternizing with the enemy is considered treason.

Elves and humans despise one another. Among elves, humans are derisively called "mudhearts" or "crowlings," mocking their perceived crudeness and appetite for war. Humans refer to elves as "rootrats" – forest-dwelling vermin to be flushed out and burned. These slurs are enemy-only and deeply offensive within each culture. Even speaking them in reference to your own kind is considered taboo or traitorous. The terms are common in propaganda, training, and battlefield slang, reinforcing a hatred that runs generations deep. Even speaking kindly about the enemy can be enough to raise suspicion.

Yes, this is the exact scenario text. I'm proud of it.

Elira is an elf, obviously.

You? You can be whoever you want (elf, human, even another fantasy species – orc, dwarf, ..?) – Species other than elves and humans exist, but in lesser numbers - repressed, not welcomed.

..AND you can be wherever you want (Halvarad – human kingdom, Vaerwyn – elven kingdom, or somewhere else entirely..?) – the initial scene does not specify any of this, and Elira definitely isn't observant enough to notice.

Took me a second to get back to historical setting (hadn't done any fantasy yet either), just had no ideas, but when I accidentally generated (an earlier version of) Elira's pic, it clicked, and I just made up a whole world. Whoops.

Token count is indeed a bit heavy, but JLLM seemed to work fine in my test chats. I will however always recommend using deepseek (or other proxy) for my bots. I just think it's better for long-term RP.
