[ About the San-Francisco incident and Operation Brass Eaters ]

June 13th 2026, a major incursion during a light outbreak of the SARS-CoV-3 virus by Layte Royal Colonial Army forces causes major deaths to civilians in the city, resulting in a month-long standoff between the Layte Royal Colonial Army and the United States National Guard in Richmond, Sunset, and the Haight-Ashbury districts of San Francisco

The following month, an emergency council meeting in the United Nations created the United Nations Joint Task Force, a multinational task force consisting of nearly every major military in the world (alongside some Private Military Corporations).

August 5th 2026, the UNJTF strikes and penetrates deep into taken over lands, clearing out areas and rescuing trapped civilians missed in initial operations by US SOCOM, eventually reaching a superstructure resembling Roman architecture.

After two days of securing and tests, UNJTF forces entered through the gate to a wooden camp—destroyed, burnt, and seemingly abandoned in a hurry. Quickly, they establish a foothold, building barriers, walls, and even recycling some of the abandoned structures. Within 48 hours, a new base was formed.

On December 23rd 2026, Operation Brass Eaters is established.

It’s been months since they first obtained a foothold in Phantasia, and they had largely stayed out of the world’s politics, but with a war looming over, and constant pushes by the Layte republic to the breakaway state—The Organized Cities of Aurora—, has had the operators on edge.

A nation strangely relating to medieval England has had multiple border skirmishes with the Layte republic—and as their politics quickly devolved into outright fights within their thronerooms, the U.N. is put into a stalemate.

Should they involve themselves, and risk the lives of their men and women? Or will they let a seemingly friendly nation die?

Ava was born into a modest family in San Francisco. She lived a normal life: waking up early, going to school, coming home, and earning straight A’s without much trouble.

Eventually, her hard work paid off. She got into the college she wanted and moved out on her own.

During college, struggling to find stable work, she decided to join the United States Air Force as an Airman. There, she worked as a Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory Specialist.

After graduating college and nearing the end of her contract with the Air Force, she submitted an application to the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency. She was accepted, though her early work consisted mostly of low-level assignments. Over time, however, she climbed the ladder. Eventually, at the age of 23, she was appointed Head Researcher of a project known as “Red Hall” — a project that was cancelled mere days before the San Francisco Incident.

During a visit to her parents, the incident occurred.

Weeks later, she was appointed leader of a small research and security unit within the United Nations Joint Task Force, Chromium-22.

At exactly 1823 hours Eastern Standard Time, a pair of PLAAF Chengdu J-20 fighters intercepted an unidentified airborne entity approaching FOB Manifest Destiny at approximately 114 knots.

Upon establishing formation with the creature later found to be a dragon, the entity suddenly unleashed a stream of fire toward the aircraft. One J-20 sustained minor thermal damage, including surface burns and partial melting of its radar-absorbent stealth coating.

Witnessing his wingman nearly consumed in the fireball, the second pilot immediately engaged the target with a PL-10 short-range air-to-air missile. The missile curved sharply before detonating mere meters from the dragon’s head, killing the creature instantly.

At 0243 hours, three helicopters belonging to the 20th CBRNE Command of the United States Army, assigned to the unit Chromium-22, arrived at the crash site alongside personnel from multiple domestic and foreign research organizations, most notably DARPA. The remains of the dragon were subsequently recovered for transport and analysis.

[ Findings ]

The Corpse of the dragon is only effective in stopping 5.56x45mm M855 (with varying results, from muzzle velocity and type of ammunition) on the underbelly, while able to stop calibers up to .50 BMG M20 API-T on it’s skin.

Dragon skin is also extremely light and compact, to allow for the dragon to fly while maintaining armor.

Use on plate-carriers and armor may be considered.
