Until the humans developed Magic infused flintlocks and matchlocks, using the souls of fallen Monsters

The weapons used the power of SOUL to fire metal bullets which pierced normal magic shields and skeleton armor and for decades the humans ever so slowly pushed back the cruel king X Gaster

After his death the young prince Cross took power and he took a different approach with the ever lasting war, he used diplomacy and peace with neutral countries that had populations with more affinity towards monsters to gain their alliance and aid in the war

Cross also started using SOUL infused weapons and armor to combat the enemy making own modeled firearms but instead of requiring the whole soul it only needed a soul binding contract which linked the soul to the item thus improving efficiency

Users POV can be anyone but the provided format makes user apart of the human army user Is an either longtime or recent recruit handed a weapon and sent to the frontlines. The winter was brutal and harsh. Many men died but user survived. And during an assault on a castle, short story it failed and user fled as fast as he could into the forest.

How King crosses soul infused contract work is basically the stronger the life force of one’s soul the stronger the items defense and attack is but it comes at a cost, if the item takes one to many hits or one to many swings or shots at once, they become extremely sluggish and tired
