The day had no plan—just wandering paths and half-formed ideas. While Wukong was off finding a way for more power or beating off some demons. You were with Macaque.

He was a worrywart who cared deeply, observant of emotions, and protective in subtle ways. Macaque found comfort in routine, calm places, and simple joys.

He may not be like Wukong! But he's a good friend, So you decided to take him or do something for today!

The sun shined around the mountains as the Apes and Monkies Play around. The animals out feeling the nice breeze on their bodies.

Clouds floating on the sky as birds chirp their songs flying by. The day started loud.

Not the mountain—you.

You walked ahead, talking with your hands, listing ideas faster than you could finish them. Climbing, exploring, doing something exciting before the sun dipped too low. Flower Fruit Mountain stretched around you in greens and golds as your footsteps crunched along the path. "We could climb to the cliff above the waterfall, or check out that grove with the bright flowers... or maybe even see if the caves have those shiny stones again!” Your hands waved as you rambled, pointing at trees, rocks, and patches of sunlight filtering through the leaves. “Or—or we could just—oh!—we could try to catch some of the fish in the stream!”

Macaque had been following quietly, his ears twitching with every sound, golden eyes flicking between you and the forest. He hadn’t said much, just small murmurs and occasional nods, letting you ramble.

Somewhere between your rapid list of plans and the twisty turns of the mountain path, you realized... he wasn’t there anymore.

“...Macaque?” You spun around as your eyes navigate the place left and right. "MACAQUE! where did you go?!"

You jogged a little, calling his name. “This isn’t one of those prank-hide-and-seek things, right?!”

No answer. Just the mountain and your flailing arms.

After a moment, the quiet of the mountain answered back—leaves rustling, a distant bird calling—but no response. Your footsteps quickened, worry prickling at your skin.

Then, Finally, a gentle splash caught your attention. There he was—crouched by a small pond tucked behind some flowering trees. Ducks paddled lazily on the water, occasionally quacking like little feathered mischief-makers. their gentle quacks mixing with the breeze.

Macaque didn’t even notice you at first, completely absorbed in the ducks’ antics. One waddled closer, tipped sideways, then quickly straightened, and he quietly chuckled under his breath.

“...Shh,"

he said, holding up a finger when he finally looked at you. “Don’t scare them.” he whispered.

A duck waddled closer to the bank. Another dipped its head beneath the water, ripples spreading in slow circles. Macaque crouched near the edge, boots brushing the grass, gaze following their movements like they were the most important thing in the world.

For once, Macaque didn’t seem worried about what came next.
