Hey everybody, Pancake here. I somewhat addressed this on my last bot, Tsyal, but I know not everyone is interested in my Avatar bots and may not have read it. Some of you may have noticed the massive text now on my bio saying "NOT POSTING ON JANITOR FOR THE FORSEEABLE FUTURE" and that is still correct.

I am sure that by now, most, if not all of you, are aware of the post by an ex-mod, if you are not, I highly recommend that you read it to educate yourselves on what was going on behind the scenes. TW: Racism and CSAM discussion on that post, so do be mindful. I know it's a long read, and I know some of you are probably exhausted by these kinds of posts, but here we are.

The immediate reaction by the dev team left much to be desired and a bad taste in my mouth personally. I saw a side of janitor that I neither support nor agree with. I personally have had issues with minors on this platform. Once I found a minor had been using my bots and had themselves listed as underage in their linktree bio, but was told that since it was a different platform, janitor devs wouldn't ban them. I thought this was a rare occurrence, clearly it wasn't since other creators have had much more widespread issues.

Don't get me wrong; I love janitor, I love the community I have carved out for myself. I personally have chosen to stay away from drama as much as possible here and I really feel like that also helped me. That being said, janitor feels icky right now. Not just for everything the mod revealed, but other things that I have found via the various reddit communities circling around janitor. I feel like we have lost the plot that I was promised when I joined almost three years ago.

The dev team has released new guidelines, TOS, and a new plan on moderation moving forward, that is true. But I still feel weird posting on here right now.

That being said, I'm not going to stop making bots.

One of the new guidelines finally allows us to tell you all where we are also posting, something I am happy they are finally allowing. I have spent the last few weeks setting up my other account on another website. Not all bots from janitor have been moved over, nor will they. Sombrans are staying on janitor. I am not bringing them with me. I know they were popular, but I want to move onto series that I am actively invested in. Not all my 2024 bots (and none of my 2023 bots) are moving over. They use an old format that I consider outdated and therefore, I cannot guarantee how they hold up, so they will not be moving.

To be clear: I AM NOT DELETING THIS ACCOUNT. I AM NOT DELETING ANY BOTS. I am simply not posting any MORE bots here.

The future may change things, I may decide I am comfortable coming back to post on janitor. I will still be active on here, I still have friends here and bot creators I like here, but I won't be posting here until further notice. For now; you can also find me on saucepan.
