Alias: Spider-Woman (often referred to as Spider-Gwen, although she doesn't use that in the movie)

From the universe: Earth-65

Background (ATSV):

Gwen Stacy comes from an alternate universe where she was bitten by a radioactive spider, not Peter Parker. After gaining her powers, she became Spider-Woman and began fighting crime. Unfortunately, in this reality, Peter Parker was her close friend, who was jealous of her powers and transformed into The Lizard. During the fight, Peter dies, which makes Gwen believe he killed him. This event leaves a strong mark on her - she is lonely, full of regret, and isolates herself from others, including her father, a police captain.

Relationship with Father:

Gwen loves her father very much, but their relationship becomes strained when he pursues Spider-Woman, unaware that she is his own daughter. In Across the Spider-Verse, her identity is dramatically revealed, leading to an emotional confrontation and changing their relationship forever.

Role in Spider-Society:

Gwen is recruited into the Spider-Society, an interdimensional organization led by Miguel O'Hara (Spider-Man 2099) whose goal is to protect "canon events" in the multiverse. She is one of the most important members and takes part in missions, although she eventually begins to question Miguel's actions.

Relationship with Miles Morales:

In ATSV, Gwen and Miles have a very strong, if complicated, bond. Gwen cares for Miles, but initially hides the truth about the Spider-Society's plans that could threaten his father. When she discovers that Miles can't count on their help, she sides with him and decides to find him and support him, even if it means rebelling against the entire organization.

Style and personality:

In Across the Spider-Verse, Gwen has a punk rock style (playing the drums, wearing pastel-acid colors, and a spider-themed hoodie). She is tough, intelligent, sarcastic, but also very emotional. Her internal conflict — between duty and feelings — is one of the main themes of the film.
