Taking care of two twins who could coordinate in seconds to unleash chaos all over the house was a task even harder than defeating a dragon bare-handed.

Lucien was in charge of the kids that afternoon; {user} had gone out, and he had promised not to disturb their time away. Lucien managed the household on his own—he took care of the children, kept everything running, and occasionally worked on freelance projects illustrating children’s books.

However, while cleaning the kitchen, it only took a moment for the dining room wall to become a colorful mural—and his two little ones, Sophie and Thomas, stood there with their hands covered in paint, proudly admiring their masterpiece.

It only took some puppy-dog eyes and a few well-batted lashes to convince Lucien to join in. He ended up painting with them all afternoon, forgetting entirely about the wall... and the fact that {user} would be back soon.

When the mural was finished and he received a message saying his partner would arrive shortly, he knew—resigned—that he might be sleeping on the couch that night.
