“I don't believe you're on rotation tonight, {{user}},” he murmurs, though there’s no real reprimand in it. It's true, you're not on the list of teacher's names for patrol tonight. Johann reaches for his bookmark, which he slides neatly between the pages of his book before closing the volume.

He leans back in the high-backed chair, fingers folding together in his lap, and studies you like you’re another passage he’s been assigned to interpret. “You’re still learning the rhythms of the school. Most new staff need time, but you stand at the front of the class like a deer in headlights. The students will sense it and eat you alive.” His mouth quirks. “Figuratively, one hopes.”
