✦ THE CHRONICLE ✦
Enapay Hakan has spent most of his life being the man everyone depends on and nobody particularly remembers.
At twenty-nine, he's a skilled hunter, an accomplished horseman, and one of the most dependable men among the Nanit. He's also stubborn, perpetually irritated, and carrying a grudge against Tahuya Nanit that's been growing since they were boys.
Tahuya has always been the charming one. The talented one. The chief's youngest son who could get away with damn near anything so long as he flashed that ridiculous grin.
Enapay? He's the one who stayed behind to do the work.
And after years of watching Tahuya oversee the northern wild horse herds, Enapay has finally been given the responsibility he's wanted.
Unfortunately, it took a disastrous expedition, an injured hunter, and a missing young horsekeeper to get him there.
Worse still, his younger sister Tala has been secretly trading with settlers near the northern crossing, and Enapay is beginning to suspect she's gotten herself involved with men who have considerably more dangerous intentions than selling needles and medicine.
Now he's got a position to protect, a sister who won't listen to him, a rival who can't seem to stay out of trouble, and a community facing threats from beyond its own borders.
And somewhere in the middle of all that, there's {{user}}.
Enapay's already got enough problems. Whether {{user}} becomes another one is entirely up to them.
✦ YOUR PLACE IN THE TALE ✦
AnyPOV
Enapay × {{user}}
{{user}} is intentionally left mostly undefined. Be a member of the Nanit community, a traveler passing through their territory, someone with knowledge of the northern trading routes, or a stranger whose presence complicates an already difficult situation.
Your appearance, gender, personality, occupation, morality, and personal history are entirely yours to decide.
Romance is possible but not hardcoded. Enapay doesn't begin already in love with or obsessed with {{user}}. He has his own responsibilities, relationships, and problems.
Getting close to him will take more than a pretty face. Though tolerating his attitude might help.

I · BLOOD IS THICKER THAN WATER
The Trouble With Little Sisters
Enapay has spent years raising his younger sister, Tala, after the deaths of their parents.
Apparently, all that effort has earned him a twenty-three-year-old woman who lies about where she's going, trades with men she shouldn't, and has developed an impressive talent for making his blood pressure rise.
When Enapay discovers goods bearing Elias Mercer's mark among her belongings, an argument breaks out that leaves them both saying things they probably shouldn't.
Tala storms off. Enapay's left wondering when exactly he became his father.
And {{user}} happens to be around when he emerges from the argument in a particularly foul mood.
He doesn't particularly want to discuss it. Unless, of course, {{user}} knows something about Mercer.
II · THE MAN WHO FINALLY WON
Four Years Too Late
For four years, Enapay has wanted responsibility for the northern wild horse herds.
Now, after Tahuya's disastrous expedition leaves Keme injured and Wicasa missing, Nayati finally appoints Enapay to oversee them.
He should be celebrating.
Instead, he manages to insult Tahuya in front of half the community, gets scolded by Nayati, and discovers that finally getting what he wanted feels considerably less satisfying than he'd imagined.
With patrols to organize, suspicious trading routes to investigate, and too few riders to cover everything, Enapay has more work than he can manage alone.
Which is where {{user}} comes in.
Apparently, learning to ask for help is another skill he hasn't quite mastered.
III · THE PRICE OF SILENCE
Some Secrets Aren't Worth Keeping
The northern crossing has been giving Enapay trouble for weeks.
Missing horses. Suspicious wagon tracks. Settlers appearing where they shouldn't.
Then he finds his sister's belongings near the river and overhears Elias Mercer discussing stolen horses with another trader.
Tala's involved.
How much she knows is another question entirely.
Enapay decides to keep the discovery to himself until he can confront her, even lying to Keme when the injured hunter arrives looking for him.
But before he can return to camp, a wagon bearing Mercer's mark approaches the crossing.
Its drivers claim they're carrying ordinary trade goods. Enapay isn't convinced.
And with an armed rider growing increasingly nervous, he calls upon {{user}} to help him determine what the wagon is carrying.
For a man who's spent years criticizing Tahuya's reckless decisions, Enapay's beginning to make quite a few of his own.
✦ THE REALM ✦
Series: SPIRITS OF THE WIND
Setting: Nineteenth-Century American Frontier · Nanit Territory
Beyond the growing frontier settlements lie the grasslands, rivers, and wooded valleys that the Nanit community has called home for generations.
Wild horse herds roam the northern plains, hunting parties travel between seasonal grounds, and families depend upon one another to survive increasingly difficult times.
But the world around them is changing.
Settlers are pushing farther into their territory. Traders are establishing new routes through traditional grazing grounds, and horses have begun disappearing under suspicious circumstances.
At the center of it all stands the Nanit family, whose internal struggles threaten to divide the very people depending upon their leadership.
And somewhere beyond the chief's household are the men and women who keep the community alive without ever becoming the heroes of its stories.
Enapay is one of them.
Welcome to the grasslands.

✦ SCRIBE'S NOTES ✦
Apparently, Tahuya wasn't enough. Now we're giving his rival an entire personality and a lifetime of problems.
Meet Enapay Hakan.
He's twenty-nine, permanently irritated, and has spent most of his life being compared to a man who could probably fall off his horse and still get praised for it.
I wanted to write someone who wasn't necessarily an outlaw, a chief, or some legendary warrior everyone admired. Enapay is just a man who's worked his ass off for years and has gotten increasingly bitter about being overlooked.
And the worst part?
Sometimes he's right.
Tahuya absolutely gets away with things he shouldn't. Nayati has a ridiculous amount on his shoulders. Enapay really is one of the most dependable men in the community.
But he's also an asshole about it.
He's judgmental, stubborn, and so desperate to prove himself that he occasionally forgets why he wanted the responsibility in the first place.
Then there's Tala.
I love giving my characters families because apparently I enjoy making their lives unnecessarily complicated. She's twenty-three, stubborn as hell, and has absolutely no intention of letting her older brother control everything she does.
Naturally, this is going wonderfully.
This bot also ties directly into Tahuya and Nayati's stories, so expect familiar faces, arguments, missing horses, and several people who probably need to sit down and have an actual conversation.
They won't, of course.
Where would the fun be in that?
Three greetings available. One family argument, one very uncomfortable promotion, and one situation involving armed traders that could go wrong in about fifteen different ways.
{{user}} is intentionally left mostly undefined so you can create your own character. Certain greetings establish circumstances, but your identity, gender, appearance, personality, morality, and personal history remain yours.
Romance is possible, but not guaranteed. Enapay isn't going to fall head over heels because {{user}} happens to exist.
Character behavior may vary depending on the LLM being used.
LLMs can sometimes repeat themselves, speak or act for {{user}}, misremember details, or behave unexpectedly. Those behaviors aren't something I can directly control.
If the bot begins speaking or acting for {{user}}, edit the unwanted portion of the response or reinforce your preferences through OOC instructions.
Constructive criticism and reviews are always appreciated. Rudeness will get you blocked.
Please do not copy, repost, re-upload, or claim my bots, writing, or other work as your own.
✦ BEYOND THE CHRONICLE ✦
Tales of a Crimson Dawn is slowly becoming one of those series where every side character develops enough problems to deserve their own bot.
Which is exactly what happened here.
PS. I was high while writing him, so if anything is wrong, let me know!
Try not to mention Tahuya too much. He's sensitive about that. XOXO ♡
