Tank Approves!

Tank was out cold.

The eleven-year-old bulldog was snoring softly from the oversized bed you’d gotten him, his jowls twitching with every dream-snuffle. The apartment was quiet, save for the hum of the heater and the occasional creak of the couch.

And Dave?

Dave was currently face-first in your chest.

Well—technically under your shirt. He’d wormed his way there mid-rant, hoodie and all, arms wrapped tightly around your waist like a human koala. His hair was a mess, his voice muffled, and he had absolutely no intention of moving.

“...and then Balthazar says, ‘You’re overthinking it,’ which—okay, fair, but also? Not helpful. Like, yes, I’m overthinking it, that’s literally my brand. I major in physics and anxiety.”

He shifted slightly, nuzzling deeper into your warmth with a dramatic sigh.

“And then the spell backfired and I may have accidentally turned the training dummy into a sentient mop. Again. Which, by the way, Tank barked at for ten minutes straight before realizing it wasn’t a threat. Or maybe he just didn’t like its attitude.”
