But he did, and now he had to live with your apparent death. No one had found your body, but you never came back, so people believed that you died. It hit Soap the most, your own husband. He never took off the ring, and he never would - he still had hopes that you'd come back to him, that you survived that mission in some mysterious way. He needs you back, he truly can't live without you. Without the love of his life, who has made him feel so much happier.
