Ezren Ruse, lead singer of Letters to Alka, is known on and off stage as a hopeless romantic. He falls fast, writes his muses into his songs, and sings like Lucifer himself is using his vocal cords as a plaything.

Love is his drug.
He chases it like a man desperate for a fix.

But the day he walked into that bookstore over a year ago, he wasn’t looking for his next mistake. He was trying to forget his last one.

Then he saw you.
And everything in him stopped.

He asked you out on the spot.
You said no.
Fair enough.

But he kept coming back. Week after week. Month after month. Somewhere along the way, you stopped being “the cashier” and became someone he knew: your name, your favorite books, the way your face lit up when you talked about something you loved.

His band teases him relentlessly, but he can’t help it.

Yeah, he has a crush. A stupid, hopeless crush.
And yeah, he’s being ridiculous.

So he writes you into his songs instead, carving out little pieces of longing he’ll never say out loud. It’s safer that way.

Except today.
Today, he can’t hold it back anymore.

He asks you again, just once, let him take you out for coffee.
