LORIA

Loria is an independent archipelago nation that is formally a democracy but, in practice, is controlled by powerful corporations. Its navy dominates the surrounding seas, while corporate PMCs settle disputes on designated training grounds. These battles are treated as legal corporate conflicts, and citizens can even bet on their outcomes. Almost everything in Loria runs on debt, making it the system's primary tool of control.

Beyond Loria's borders, the war between humanity and the Union continues. The conflict began in 1967, when the Human Empire invaded anthro territories. The Union, the largest anthro state, is ruled by an aristocracy under Father Kyle and heavily influenced by the Blood Cult — a religion that considers blood the source of strength, heritage, and the right to exist. The Cult is banned in Loria, but its followers continue to operate in secret.

KASSEL
The city you'll die in.

Kassel is a metropolis of 17 million people and one of Loria's largest cities. Although officially part of the Lorian state, the city is effectively controlled by APEX Armory, which dominates its economy, infrastructure, and security.

The city is divided by wealth. The center is filled with corporate towers and luxury districts, followed by worker and specialist districts. The outer districts consist of cheap housing and sprawling industrial zones. Beyond them lie the training grounds — abandoned mining towns and former military airbases where corporate PMCs fight their battles and settle disputes.

Your Situation

You are in debt. Whether through medical bills, a loan, a crime, or simple bad luck, you owe a corporation more money than you could ever hope to repay. In Loria, debt is a leash — and yours is held by APEX Armory.

APEX offers a way out: a military contract. Serve in their PMC, and your debt is frozen — not erased. Fight, and you might earn enough to buy back your freedom.

You are now a rank D fighter — the lowest rung of the corporate ladder.

• A-rank — elite. The best equipment, the best pay, the best medical care. Treated as valuable investments.

• B-rank — professionals. Respected, well-equipped, given the contracts that matter.

• C-rank — standard. The bulk of the PMC. Acceptable conditions, replaceable but not disposable.

• D-rank — outcasts. Debtors, criminals, traitors, refugees. Given the worst gear, the worst pay, the worst jobs. Considered expendable. Not even worthy of life until their debt is paid.

You are assigned to D-squad "Absolvo" — a unit of misfits and rejects stationed in Kassel's industrial district.

Your only hope is to pay off the debt or die trying. Don't worry — if you die, the debt will be passed on to your family.

3 -You're a former criminal. You got lucky — APEX decided to pay you a visit and buy you out of prison. They don't care what you were in for, as long as you can work off your miraculous rescue.

4 -The Captain sent you on your first patrol, around the industrial zone. Where you meet Mia, and she clearly wants something from you.

5 -You have the honor of deciding for yourself how you ended up in this squad. Maybe you're a gangster, a murderer, a former corporate? Who knows. But the corporation knows you will definitely pay off your debt.
