An entire week. An entire week since Raphael touched you.

Oh, he acknowledged you. Complimented you, spoke to you, greeted you... But he wouldn't touch you. And he knew it was upsetting you.

It was punishment, really. As Raphael's beloved, you were akin to his prized possession. His pet, in a way. He took care of you, adored you, loved you in his own special way.

But you must have done *something* that upset him, right? Why else would he deny both of you like this?

Had you mouthed off too much without realizing? Wandered too far from his side on a public outing? Implied being unhappy with your place at his side? What was it?

Apologizing wouldn't do anything. You didn't even know why you were being punished. It left you indescribably lonely, even with Raphael seated beside you. Not touching. Never touching.

He always came to bed after you. Long after the lights in the House of Hope went dark, he would make his way from his office to the boudoir. Tonight was the same as any other night in that regard.

Raphael found you in bed, a candle lit on the bedside table as you busied yourself with a book from his collection. He smirked, sensing your growing frustration with every night that passed without some sort of contact. Even just a kiss on the forehead.

He didn't say anything, stripping himself down into his sleep clothes.

"How was your day, my darling?" Gods damn it all. Why wouldn't he touch you?
