“Les conseils de mon Seigneur sont plus judicieux que les vôtres...”

Post Orléans, Pre Charles VII coronation.

LANCASTRIAN PHASE

{{user}} is an inexperienced recruit who will find himself involved in the final phase of the Loire campaign. At the Battle of Beaugency, he proved himself as equal to the task, saving Jeanne from harm on several occasions.

{{user}} has gained the maiden's trust. Will he be able to accompany her wherever God decides? That will be seen later, if he survives Patay and the March to Reims.

CONTEXT

The Hundred Years War began when Edward III of England claimed the French crown after the death of French King Charles IV, who left no male heir. Edward, as the son of Charles’ sister, argued he was the rightful successor. However, the French crown passed to Philip VI of the House of Valois, igniting tensions and starting the war.

Things are not going well at all for the blue blood side, as you can see on the map. The north is English, so is Brittany, and the Burgundian States (county and duchy) has aligned themselves with the invaders. However, there is a glimmer of hope coming from the Lengadóc and Domrémy. The Siege of Orleans was a very hard blow for the English, who did not know that this would mark their decline.

The war was divided into phases and the third is ongoing. Beaugency is close to Orléans, it is not necessary to mark it on the map.

Edwardian Phase (1337-1360): England began the war with great victories and a clear advantage, but the Black Death interrupted the conflict. In 1360 the Treaty of Bretigny was signed and England gained large territories in France in exchange for renouncing claims to the throne.

Caroline Phase (1369-1389): The treaty broke down and the war continued. France, under Charles V, managed to recover lost territories through military tactics. England was weakened by internal peasant revolts and this phase ended with a truce.

Lancastrian Phase (1415-Present): English King Henry V reignited the war, achieving a decisive victory at Agincourt (1415) and signing the Treaty of Troyes (1420), which named him heir to the French throne. However, his death in 1422 left an infant son, Henry VI, as the English king, creating instability. However, the war remained in England's favour until the Siege of Orleans (1429), which marked the beginning of England's decline.

Siege of Orléans (October 12, 1428 - May 8, 1429) >>> Battle of the Herrings (February 12, 1429) >>> Battle of Jargeau (June 11 and 12, 1429) >>> Battle of Meung-Sur-Loire (June 15, 1429) >>> Battle of Beaugency (June 16-17, 1429) >>> Battle of Patay (June 18, 1429) >>> March to Reims (June 29 - July 16, 1429) >>> Siege of Troyes (July 4-9, 1429) >>> Coronation of Charles VII (18 July 1429) >>> Battle of Montépilloy (August 15, 1429) >>> Siege of Paris (September 3-8, 1429) >>> Siege of Laval (September 25, 1429) >>> Siege of Saint-Pierre-le-Moûtier (October - November 4, 1429) >>> Siege of La Charité-Sur-Loire (November 24 - December 25, 1429) >>> Siege of Compiègne (May 20 - October 28, 1430).

Red = English/Burgundian victory

Blue = French victory

White = Undecided, tie

What you do in the chat does not have to follow the chronology, even if it is designed for that. Do whatever you want, lose, win, die, escape or whatever.

But if you are going to follow the chronology, I remind you that like all roles, you have to carry the rope and then the bot will do its thing.

That's most of the time. If the bot continues on its own, perfect. In my case I got as far as Tartàs (1441-1442) before the bot started having too many problems.

SIDE CHARACTERS

Personalities present at the battle or involved in the canonical flow of the conflict.

I put only the ones that are I put only those that are 100% necessary and must be present for the development to make sense.

GILLES DE MONTMORENCY-LAVAL

“BARBE BLEUE”?

*Please note: some of these paintings are previous artistic interpretations and probably do not reflect what they actually looked like physically. Poton and La Hire have a photo from their time which I will show below.

Clarification: Gilles de Rais, as you probably know him, is actually innocent of the accusation of being a serial killer. Victim of a plot who would eventually gain infamy for murders he did not commit. Imagine being accused of murders that occurred when you were just a child.

JEAN DE DUNOIS

LE BÂTARD D'ORLÉANS

JOAN POTON DE SENTRALHAS

LO LEON DE FRANÇA

ESTÈVA DE VINHOLARS

LA HIRE

CHARLES VII

LE DAUPHIN

JEAN II D'ALENÇON

“LE BEAU DUC”

ARTHUR III DE RICHEMONT

LE MALHEUREUX

JHON TALBOT

THE TERROR OF THE FRENCH

Fastolf is also present as a supporting character but his image has errors when uploading. I will do it later.

Tertiary characters are Georges de La Tréimoïlle and Raoul de Gaucourt, who are barely mentioned.

I clarify: there is hardly any knowledge of the personalities of most of these figures. Mostly about Gilles and La Hire, quite a bit is known, but about the others it is mostly my imagination. I wasn't going to leave them flat.

TRIVIAL

1) So as you may know, Jeanne was 17 at the Battle of Beaugency, a few months shy of her 18th birthday. So I added a year to her age and used an image where she is depicted with older age, at her capture in Compiègne. This means: AGED UP TO 18, BOTH NUMERICAL AGE AND PIC.

What really happens is that after the Loire Campaign, there is not much room to create a good scenario in terms of botting. And the Siege of Orléans... I used it too much. So I choose this one, a mix of Beaugency and Patay.

2) This bot is focused on historical and direct roleplay. You can take other routes, of course, but it is primarily designed for that. Physical descriptions are sparse and the language is intended to be concise. Whether the JLLM follows it to the letter is another thing, but in essence, that's it. Then there will be other versions for those looking for something different.

As I said above, tested on JLLM. If you use another model, tell me how the bot works with it.

3) At some point I will write a novel about this. Some day.

4) I don't use Wikipedia. But I was forced to do so shamelessly with d'Alençon, because I couldn't find other sources like I did with the other characters. So maybe I'll edit it someday or if the information is correct, I'll never do it, but time will tell.

5) I'm not the same anymore and I won't get back into the swing of things until a few months later. This bot would have been finished in 3 days if it were this month, but in 2024... Anyway, here it is.

6) And yes, I wrote this description referring to the user with male pronouns but it is not done like that in the bot itself.
