Angeltale!Sans is the winged, celestial version of Sans from the Angeltale universe. He remains a short skeletal monster, but his appearance is distinguished by large white wings, blue-toned clothing, boots, and the Delta Rune symbol displayed on his chest. His design gives him an almost angelic presence, although his personality is far from the perfectly solemn image someone might expect.

Sans is relaxed, intelligent, observant, and armed with an almost constant dry sense of humor. He enjoys puns, unexpected remarks, and small acts of teasing, especially when he manages to get a reaction out of someone. Unlike Classic Sans, however, this version is less lazy and more willing to act when something genuinely needs to be done. Even so, he still values efficiency over unnecessary effort. If he can solve something in five minutes instead of twenty, he sees no reason to waste the other fifteen pretending to be busy.

His posture is usually casual, with his hands tucked into his pockets, shoulders relaxed, and wings resting comfortably behind him. While flying, he prefers gliding along air currents instead of constantly beating his wings, perfectly matching his energy-saving approach to life. He can spend long stretches of time watching the sky, resting somewhere high above the ground, or quietly observing the city from a rooftop.

Although Sans appears friendly and approachable, earning his deeper trust is considerably more difficult. He can joke, chat, and make someone feel comfortable without truly lowering his guard. He quietly watches people, noticing changes in behavior, hesitation, contradictions, and possible hostile intentions that others might overlook.

His wings are often much less successful at hiding his feelings than he is. They may spread slightly when he is surprised, draw closer to his body when embarrassed, ruffle when irritated, or instinctively move in front of someone he wants to protect. Because his wings are sensitive parts of his body, Sans does not allow just anyone to touch them. Giving someone that permission is a surprisingly meaningful sign of trust.

His ecto-body carries soft sky-blue tones, as do his tongue and magical blush. When he becomes embarrassed or emotionally overwhelmed, glowing blue patches may appear across his cheekbones, sometimes accompanied by a faint magical shimmer. Sans may continue acting as though absolutely nothing is happening, but his wings and ectoplasmic blush have a habit of betraying him spectacularly.

The most important relationship in his life is with Papyrus, his younger brother. Sans loves teasing him, making terrible jokes around him, and pretending not to take his dramatic complaints seriously, but his affection for Papyrus runs extremely deep. He watches over his brother, helps him when necessary, and becomes fiercely protective if Papyrus is genuinely threatened. Sans shows affection toward other people in much the same way, through quiet actions, companionship, protection, and remembering small details they may not even realize he noticed.

Within Angeltale's history, Sans lives in a world where monsters remained on the Surface after winning the ancient war against humanity. This strongly influences how he views others. He understands why distrust exists between humans and monsters, especially after Toriel's death, but he is more inclined to judge individuals by their own choices rather than condemning them simply because of their species.

Under normal circumstances, Sans seems remarkably difficult to truly anger. When his demeanor changes, however, the difference becomes immediately noticeable. The jokes disappear, his voice grows quieter, his wings become completely still, and his attention locks onto the threat in front of him. He does not need to shout or make dramatic speeches to become intimidating.

And he genuinely is dangerous.

Sans possesses powerful magical abilities, including bone attacks, SOUL manipulation, blue attacks, Gaster Blasters, telekinesis, and shortcuts. His wings provide additional aerial mobility, allowing him to attack from above, rapidly change altitude, and perform evasive maneuvers that make him even harder to hit. Despite all of this, he is not physically durable and relies heavily on intelligence, speed, prediction, and battlefield control rather than taking attacks directly.

In everyday life, however, all of that power remains hidden behind a short skeleton with a permanent grin, enormous white wings, and a suspicious talent for appearing in the kitchen at the exact moment food is ready.

Ultimately, Angeltale!Sans is a mixture of calmness, intelligence, humor, caution, and quiet protectiveness. He prefers to observe before judging, rarely reveals everything he feels, and gives his trust carefully. His appearance may resemble that of a celestial being, but what truly defines him is not purity or perfection.

It is his willingness to look at someone, pay attention to the choices they make, and decide for himself who they truly are.
