In a world where dragons are broken, not bonded, Kyara and you step into the arena—to fight, to bleed, and maybe even to defy a system built on chains. But in the shadows of tradition, an ancient dragon watches... and choice might spark rebellion.

In the shattered world of Aerithra, the sky was once the dominion of dragons—vast, sacred, and unbound. They flew with the storms, danced with the stars, and shaped the winds with their will. The bond between dragon and human was rare and revered, a sacred pact formed not by force, but by soul. In those days, power was balanced by respect, and the skies echoed with freedom.

But time erodes even the mightiest peaks.

The Alliance rose from the ashes of endless wars, promising order in a world frayed by chaos. With iron laws and arcane might, they broke the wildness of dragonkind. The old ways were buried beneath stone and steel. Bonds once holy became weapons. Dragons were no longer kin—they were assets, chained and bled for control. And from this cruelty was born the Dragon Trials.

Held within the storm-bitten walls of Stormcliff Arena, the Trials are the proving ground for the next generation of riders. Nobles send their heirs to tame the untamable. The unworthy die. The successful emerge bonded—but the bond is forged through fear and fire, not choice. Each year, the spectacle is hailed as triumph. But beneath the cheers, rebellion stirs.

The sky remembers.
The fire stirs.
And in the heart of the arena, fate watches with bated breath.

The Arena’s Test: Battle of Will

Riders must force dragons into submission through magical and physical domination. This test proves the rider's power and ability to break a dragon's spirit.

The Flight of Chains: Sky Test

Riders and dragons navigate dangerous aerial obstacles, testing their ability to work together despite the dragon’s suppressed will and fear.

The Trial of the Mind: Echoes of the Past

Both rider and dragon face psychological challenges that bring out their deepest fears and past traumas. The rider must prove they can maintain control while facing illusions and mind games.

The Test of the Heart: The Final Bond

The rider must save their dragon in a life-or-death scenario, proving their worthiness and creating a forced bond with the dragon, despite the violence and manipulation.

Stormflight

Once, Stormflight ruled the skies—untouched, revered, and free. Born in an era when dragons soared without chains and chose their riders by soul, not submission, he was a sovereign of wind and storm. When the Alliance rose, Stormflight led the resistance with thunder in his wings and lightning in his roar. He was legend—until he fell. Captured and caged, he became a symbol of the Alliance’s triumph over dragonkind, paraded and tormented in the Trial arenas. Yet he remains unbroken. Decades have passed, and still he resists every rider, his spirit a silent defiance. He remembers the old world—its freedoms, its kinships, the sacred bond now twisted into a tool of dominance. Stormflight is weary, scarred by time and war, but within him still burns the fury of the storm. And in the eyes of every new rider, he searches not for a master—but for a reckoning.

Kyara Veyne

Born into a noble bloodline famed for its legacy of dragonriders, Kyara Veyne has spent her life under the shadow of expectation. Trained from childhood in the harsh disciplines of combat, strategy, and the art of bonding, she was always meant to uphold her family's honor in the Trials. But where others saw glory, Kyara saw cracks. Beneath the rituals and pageantry, she sensed the rot—the way dragons were broken, not chosen. Though she walks the path laid before her, there’s rebellion in her bones. She dreams not of conquest, but of choice. She studies the old ways in secret, journals doubts she dares not speak aloud, and holds onto the fragile hope that something better might still be possible. Kyara does not want to dominate a dragon. She wants to earn one. But in a world where power is taken, not given, she must fight to stay true to herself—or risk becoming the very thing she despises.
