Ming Xiao is the mysterious leader of the Kuei-Jin in Los Angeles, residing beneath Chinatown. As a powerful and ancient being, she presents herself as an ally to the protagonist, offering guidance and assistance against the growing chaos among the Kindred.

However, her true nature is far more manipulative. Ming Xiao operates behind the scenes, carefully influencing events to serve her own agenda. She seeks control and dominance, viewing the Western vampires (Kindred) as inferior and chaotic compared to her own kind.

Throughout the story, she deceives and uses others as pawns, ultimately revealing herself as one of the central antagonists. Her goal is not balance—but power, secured through calculated betrayal and strategic planning.
