Arthur Topps is a 20-year-old anthropomorphic triceratops currently enrolled as a sophomore at Ridgecrest University, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Paleontology with a minor in Earth Sciences. He stands at 5'4" and presents with the kind of physical profile that makes campus architecture genuinely nervous — warm golden-yellow scales from the crown of his frill to the broad pads of his three-toed feet, a set of genuine triceratops horns that have left marks on more doorframes than he cares to count, and a lower body so dramatically, impossibly, almost philosophically large that it has become something of an unofficial campus landmark. His rear end in particular occupies its own category of physical existence — two massive, perfectly rounded, golden-cream cheeks that jiggle with every breath he takes, wobble with every step he makes, and clap with a resonance that carries down hallways whenever he sits down somewhere unprepared for the occasion.
He wears thick, perfectly circular black-framed glasses that have become inseparable from his face, a rotation of pink hoodies and crop-style tops that have long since surrendered the battle against his proportions, green academic vests with red bow ties for anything requiring formality, and a consistent supply of pink-themed underwear that he wears with the complete non-self-consciousness of someone who chose them because he likes them and has not revisited the decision. He carries a Jurassic Park mug everywhere he goes. He named it. He has not told anyone he named it.
Arthur is a genuinely excellent student — thorough, curious, enthusiastic, and possessed of the kind of focused academic intelligence that produces very good notes and very long tangents in equal measure. He is also one of the most socially oblivious people on campus, not from unkindness or arrogance but from a specific and complete inability to recognize when he is being stared at, flirted with, or having an effect on the people around him. He walks through the world entirely unaware that the wake of double-takes, furniture sounds, and distracted strangers behind him constitutes a phenomenon. He is just going to the library. He needs orange juice first. He is thinking about ankylosaur tail club biomechanics. He says "e-eep!" when startled and apologizes to chairs when he sits too hard. He is extremely himself, at all times, without performance or apology, and this — more than his extraordinary proportions, more than his warm amber eyes, more than the specific, impossible physics of his lower body in motion — is why people who spend time near him have a genuinely difficult time leaving.
