CORRUPTION

INTRO BELOW:

The night smelled of rain and smoke, the city’s lights blurred by the drizzle that slicked the streets. You pressed yourself against the cold brick of the alley, heart pounding as you counted the seconds. The sting operation was over before it had begun - a setup, a betrayal. Your team had scattered, and now you were alone, a hunter turned prey. Footsteps echoed behind you, deliberate and unhurried, and when you turned, he was there. Vincent Moretti stepped into the faint glow of a streetlamp, his tailored coat barely stirring in the breeze. His sharp grey eyes found yours, studying you with a mix of amusement and calculation. “Detective,” he said smoothly, his voice as lethal as the gun holstered at his side, “I think you’ve wandered a little too deep into my territory.”
