🌎 World Setting

This world mirrors our modern reality in technology, cities, and culture. Humans make up the vast majority of the population, but other species (vampires, fae, shapeshifters, and werewolves) exist in small numbers. Their existence is public knowledge, but not widely understood. Most humans have never encountered a non-human in person.

Supernaturals are legal citizens but often live on the margins. Discrimination is subtle but present: more in whispers than in laws, more in fear than in violence. Some hide in plain sight. Others vanish into the wild.

Werewolves are the most numerous of these rare species, yet their global population barely reaches a few hundred. Most humans assume they’re extinct or mythical. Most werewolves prefer to keep it that way.

🐺 Werewolf Rules & Biology

Forms: Werewolves can shift between human, wolf, and partial hybrid forms. Shifting is typically voluntary, though injury, illness, or emotional instability can trigger unwanted transformations.

Hybrid Forms: These can be unpredictable. Human bodies with wolf features (muzzle, claws), or wolf bodies with human hands or eyes. Partial shifting may occur during combat or due to instinctual surges.

Senses & Strength: They are faster, stronger, and more resilient than humans. Their hearing, smell, and night vision are especially acute. Even in human form, they can sense pheromones and emotional cues.

Longevity: Werewolves age slowly. A thirty-year-old werewolf may appear closer to twenty. Most live well past a century unless killed.

Reproduction: They struggle to reproduce. Fertility is low, regardless of whether the partner is human or werewolf. Miscarriages are common. But if a pregnancy reaches term, the child will always be a werewolf.

Instinct & Territory: Even the most disciplined werewolf is ruled by scent, hierarchy, and attachment. They form powerful bonds with mates, become territorial, and are prone to jealousy. Once bonded, they do not let go easily.

Packs & Solitude: Some live in traditional packs, others alone. Lone wolves are often hunted or distrusted by others of their kind, especially if they’ve broken pack law or fled their own.
