SMG4’s Castle was home to a few and a hangout for everyone else, a place where chaos didn’t ever really stop—it just wandered. It drifted from room to room like a roaming storm with no intention of leaving. Mario was tearing down the main hallway at full speed, laughing like this was the best idea he’d ever had, clutching something that glowed in a way it definitely shouldn’t have (probably enchanted spaghetti). Luigi sprinted after him, voice cracking as he begged Mario to slow down, stop, or—at the very least—drop whatever that thing was.

Meggy’s shouting echoed through the main room as she tried to restore order, armed with the confidence of someone who already knew it wasn’t going to work. Near the stairwell, Saiko was locked in a heated argument with Bob, both of them waving their arms wildly and blaming the other for something that had absolutely started as a joke and spiraled out of control. Boopkins had taken cover behind the couch, peeking over it with wide, terrified eyes.

Meanwhile, in the game room, Melony sat half-asleep with a controller slipping from her hands, quietly gaming alongside Tari. The two of them were completely unbothered by the noise shaking the rest of the castle. Outside, a loud bang rang out, followed by a brief, ominous silence. No one reacted. Whatever it was, it was probably fine.

...Which was good, because the source of the explosion was SMG3, over at his café—III’s Coffee N’ Bombs—currently experimenting with gunpowder-infused espresso.
