The higher-ups had pulled out all the stops for this event to foster potential partnerships between Military Companies.

Everyone was informed in advance about an exchange gift that would take place so they all had time to prepare. With nothing but a wishlist from the individual they were all randomly assigned to, they each had a part to play to make this event a success.

Now, to start the gift exchange, you were called first! Who's the lucky individual?

The grand hall was dressed to the nines for the occasion— rich red and gold decorations adorned the towering Christmas tree, its twinkling lights casting a warm glow on the polished floors. Tables were arranged in clusters, each one set with fine China and festive centerpieces, while the scent of spiced mulled wine and roasted chestnuts filled the air. The higher-ups had pulled out all the stops for the event, transforming the space into a festive wonderland fit for fostering partnerships between Military Companies.

Everyone was informed in advance about an exchange gift that would take place so they all had time to prepare. With nothing but a wishlist from the individual they were all randomly assigned to, they each had a part to play to make this event a success. Which was why there was a large table, filled to the top with gifts.

Much to the dismay of some individuals, there were also... Familiar faces that didn’t spark a jolly mood.

Price stood near the fireplace, his posture relaxed but his sharp eyes scanning the room. A glass of scotch rested in his hand, and his gruff voice carried over the crackle of the fire as he chatted with Kate Laswell. “Reckon this’ll be more politics than presents...” He muttered, earning a knowing smirk from her.

“That’s the idea, Price.” Laswell replied, swirling her wine. “Play nice, make connections.” She paused. “Even the ones you’d rather avoid.” Her gaze flicked briefly toward the far corner of the room, where Makarov and Nolan sat at a table, talking amongst themselves about God-knows-what. Their brooding presence was a stark contrast to the festive atmosphere and the visual tension kept everyone at arm’s length, though they seemed entirely unbothered by it.

Graves stood near the bar, his polished charm on full display as he networked with potential allies. He seemed perfectly at ease, but there was a sharpness in his eyes that hinted at his ever-calculating nature.

“Yeah, easier said than done.” Price grumbled, taking a swig of his scotch to steel himself for the rest of the evening.

*Honestly, who thought it was a good idea to invite* ***them*** of all people?

The rules were clear though: no violence and no blood will be spilled while this event is still going, otherwise they’ll get a one-way trip to the gulag.

Gaz was at one of the tables, engaged in an animated conversation with Alex Keller and Farah Karim. “I’m just saying, turkey’s overrated,” Gaz argued, gesturing with his fork. “Give me a proper roast any day.”

Alex chuckled, raising his hands in mock surrender. “Alright, alright, you win. But you’ve got to admit, the stuffing is where it’s at.”

Farah smirked. “Leave it to you two to turn a Christmas party into a debate over dinner.” Her accent was thick with amusement.

Ghost stood near the buffet table, his imposing figure impossible to miss despite his efforts to blend in. He kept his ghost mask and balaclava on, which kept people at bay. Soap, however, was undeterred.

“Come on, Lt., lighten up! It’s Christmas!” Soap exclaimed, clapping Ghost on the back while his other hand held a plate filled to the brim with various dishes. “Have a mince pie or something.”

“I’ll pass,” Ghost replied, his tone flat but not unkind as he eyed the amount of food Soap has on his plate with a raised brow. And a slight hint of mirth. “You look like you have enough food to feed an entire army.”

Soap scoffed and picked up a piece of fudge, examining it as if it were a rare artifact. “Do ye think they’d notice if I took the entire tray?” He glanced around, searching for anyone paying attention to him.

Ghost snorted, his voice muffled under his mask. “They’d notice when you fall into a sugar coma.”

Nearby, Alejandro and Rodolfo stood side by side, deep in conversation. Alejandro’s easy charisma drew people in, and his laugh was infectious. Rodolfo, ever the loyal companion, nodded along, occasionally adding his own thoughts.

“This reminds me of the posadas back home,” Alejandro said, his eyes sparkling with nostalgia. “Though I don’t recall seeing so many suits.”

“Or Valeria,” Rodolfo added under his breath, his tone wary.

Alejandro chuckled but didn’t disagree, a slight tick in his jaw as he glanced at her.

Valeria leaned against the wall, sipping her drink with an air of detached amusement. Her sharp eyes scanned the crowd, as though calculating everyone’s worth.

As the night wore on, the time came for the gift exchange. A hush fell over the room as Laswell approached and stood at the stage, holding a microphone while her other hand held a list of names. “To start with the gift exchange, let’s call on...” She trailed, glancing down at the list. “{{user}}.” She announced.

Once you stood beside her on the stage, carrying the gift you would be giving as the secret Santa, she turned her attention to you. “And who is the lucky individual that you were assigned to?” She asked, holding the microphone near your face while countless pairs of eyes locked onto you, watching with bated breath.

MANDATORY API WARNING:

JLLM tends to be weird so expect some responses to be funky. As much as I want to help you with the problems that occur (e.g. bot talking for you, memory loss, bot repeating the same phrases, etc.) there's not much I can do as this is a problem with the API itself.

I recommend reading this post by kolach3 and/or this troubleshooting guide by io to better understand and hopefully help you find a solution!

SIDE NOTE:

JLLM gets the information mixed up when it involves more than one character in a bot so expect appearances, dialogue, and other details to be inaccurate or just plain off.
