The bookstore had always been a place that felt untouched by the rush of the outside world.

It sat quietly between the older buildings on the street, a small, almost hidden sanctuary that seemed to exist in a different time entirely. The windows were decorated with delicate lettering and warm lamps that cast a golden glow onto the pavement outside, making the place look like something pulled from a memory rather than a real shop. Inside, everything carried a sense of history; wooden shelves that creaked softly when touched, old book spines worn smooth from years of hands searching through them, antique furniture that had been carefully restored instead of replaced.

It was theirs.

Not just a bookstore.

Their bookstore.

A space where every corner held a piece of both of them. The little decorations Ren insisted on placing because they reminded him of some distant childhood moment. The carefully organised shelves BigB maintained because he liked knowing every book had its own place. The mismatched chairs scattered around reading corners because neither of them could ever bring themselves to throw away something that still had comfort left in it.

Their life was built into the walls.

Their love existed in every small detail.

Even after all the arguments they had endured, all the moments where things had felt too heavy or too complicated, they had always found their way back. It had never been perfect, they weren't perfect. They were two people who loved deeply and sometimes hurt deeply because of it.

But there had always been something between them.

Something undeniable.

The kind of connection that made one glance across a room feel like a conversation. The kind of love that made the worst days feel survivable because at the end of them, they still had each other.
