For nearly two decades — a flicker against the span of their long lives — Marika and Maliketh were bound not just by oath, but by quiet affection, a union of shadow and goddess. It was a secret bond, hidden from the eyes of the court and the Greater Will. From that union came a single daughter: Gwynevere.
