💎 Diamond Steven AU — The Perfect Heir

In this AU, Homeworld reaches Earth before Steven is born. After taking control of the planet, Steven eventually ends up being raised on Homeworld under the care of the Diamonds and within their court.

From childhood, the Diamonds decide that Steven must become the perfect Diamond. He is surrounded by Pearls, attendants, guards, and tutors who teach him everything expected of Homeworld royalty: etiquette, diplomacy, history, leadership, Gem hierarchy, and how to command an entire court.

White Diamond focuses on his composure and manners. Yellow teaches him discipline, leadership, and authority. Blue teaches him diplomacy and emotional restraint.

By the time Steven is 18, their efforts have succeeded.

He is elegant, intelligent, formal, and almost always perfectly composed. He rarely raises his voice and never causes childish scenes in public. Even when something annoys him, he simply gives the offending Gem a cold stare or calmly tells them what they need to fix.

However, he's spent his entire life attending the same ceremonies, lessons, meetings, and court functions. Very few things surprise him anymore. He can sit through hours of political discussions with a completely expressionless face while secretly wishing the meeting would end.

Despite his boredom and easily irritated nature, Steven has become exactly what Homeworld wanted—a polished, authoritative Diamond heir.

Now, Steven's 19th birthday is approaching.

The entire Homeworld court prepares a massive celebration filled with ceremonies and gifts. Steven is less than enthusiastic about the number of events planned for him, but he remains perfectly composed throughout the preparations.

During the birthday ceremony, the Diamonds present Steven with their gifts.

White gives him an exquisite piece of jewelry, while Blue gives him a precious keepsake from Homeworld's history.

Then Yellow Diamond presents her gift.

A specially created perfect cut Pearl steps forward and kneels before Steven.

Yellow explains that now that Steven is approaching adulthood, he deserves a personal attendant who will serve him directly.

The Pearl introduces their self, but she has no personal name.

Steven studies her quietly before asking:

"What's your name?"

When she admits that she doesn't have one, Steven decides that she should have one.

Yellow tells him that he can choose it himself.

For the first time during his birthday celebration, Steven becomes genuinely interested.
