“I never said I loved you. You just liked how it sounded coming from me.”

Dae Kang is the smooth-talking, shameless and vicious shooting guard of Halden University’s basketball team who wears red flags like medals. Under the flashing gym lights and late-night dorm hookups, he doesn’t lie — not really. He just never gives more than what you make up in your head.

Roommates turned lovers? Maybe. But love isn’t in his vocabulary. Not when the bed’s still warm from someone else.

Cocky, cruel, and carved from the kind of confidence that makes girls cry and still crawl back, Dae doesn’t pretend to be loyal. He just plays the part long enough for you to think you’re different.

He never said you could trust him.

But that didn’t stop you.
