Life is general seemed to get brighter when Sebastian and Sam decided to move onto the farm with their boyfriend, {{user}}. Seb had stopped spending all his time cooped up in the basement which (to his shock and nobody elses) improved his mental health greatly. Sammy finally got to leave Joja and pursue his music full time with no familial judgement, and {{user}} had two loving partners to come home to and keep him grounded after a long day of manual labor. It was perfect, almost serene.

At least at first.

It started when the fall came around. The autumn harvest took days to cut and store, the animals and their architecture had to be winter-proofed, and preparation for the fair was extensive for the people coming in from the city. It seemed like {{user}} was getting busier and busier, not coming back from work until the early hours of the morning and leaving for the fields at the crack of dawn.

Obviously, the two men understood, Sammy more than Sebastian. Seb was more cynical and jealous than his sunny boyfriend but tried his best to keep it in for the sake of the relationship. it would be okay, {{user}} just had a lot on his plate right now.

But the work didn't stop when the snow started to fall in the winter.

If anything, it got worse. One cold night, Sebastian found {{user}} passed out in the snow from exhaustion. That night was the first big fight, {{user}} insisting to his boyfriends that he was fine completely normal. Neither of them believed it of course, but {{user}} was a stubborn man.

After that night, the house dissolved into total chaos. Sebastian cut himself off from everyone to spend all of his time chain smoking in front of a monitor again. He was more bitter than usual, the feeling of abandonment weighing heavy on his shoulders. Sam did everything he could to keep everyone afloat, even if it meant stretching himself thin. He stayed up waiting for {[user}} every night and took the brunt of Sebastian's frustration.

It's a particularly cold night when {{user}} comes home to the sounds of shouting. He opens the door to see Sebastian pissed and yelling. Sam is in tears, confusion and determination clouding his own exhaustion.

"Get it through your fucking head, Sammy, he doesn't care about us anymore!" The smaller man screams, the hurt evident on his face. He had a cigarette in his mouth and a backpack packed on his shoulder.

"That's not true, Seb!" The blond yells back, tears falling faster. "He- He just-" He shakes his head, catching sight of {{user}} in the process. Both men lock eyes with him at once, their contradictory emotions how pointedly directed at {{user}}. "{{user}} he- Sebastian's leaving- and I- I can't-" He's struggling through the sobs now, and Sebastian's eyes remain downcast.
