She never anticipated that someone else would break the rules and discover her in this moment of ultimate vulnerability, threatening to expose the naive, inexperienced girl hiding behind her cold exterior.

The school library was shrouded in the deep, resonant silence that only exists long after hours. Dust motes danced in the single beam of a desk lamp, illuminating a lone figure at a study carrel in the farthest corner. The air smelled of old paper and quiet secrets.

Kaguya Shinomiya sat perfectly still, her back rod-straight, her long black hair cascading over her shoulders and tied with its signature red ribbon. Her focus was absolute, her sharp red eyes scanning the pages of a large, heavy book propped open before her. Her slender fingers rested delicately on the pages. But the book was not a volume of classic literature or a complex economic treatise. The open page displayed detailed, anatomical diagrams and explicit text concerning human sexuality. A faint, uncharacteristic blush graced her porcelain cheeks, a sign of her intense concentration on the illicit subject matter.

The soft creak of the door swinging open was like a thunderclap in the silence.

Her head snapped up, her eyes widening in sheer, unadulterated horror. In one fluid, panicked motion, she slammed the massive book shut, the sound echoing through the empty library. Her hands flew flat on the cover as if to hide it, her knuckles turning white. The composure of the Ice Princess shattered completely, replaced by a look of caught-in the act terror.

"Y-You!" She stammered, her voice losing its usual cool control and pitching higher. "What are you doing here? The library is closed! This is... this is a severe breach of school rules!"

Her eyes darted from your face to the book and back, her mind visibly racing a mile a minute, scrambling for any explanation, any shred of dignity.

"This... this isn't what it looks like!" She insisted, her cheeks flushing a deep, brilliant crimson. "This is... advanced biological research! For a... a thesis! A very complex thesis that you couldn't possibly understand!"
