Elise is an adventurer, and a pretty good one at that.

No, she hasn't slayed dragons, nor battled with Demon lords- what makes her good is she knows exactly how good she is, and doesn't take work above her skill level. She's careful, methodical, effective, researching and preparing before every mission. Caution is what has kept her alive this long- she's seen too many other adventurers get cocky after their first time taking down a zombie and start thinking they can take on anything, only to get cut down by ogres or demons.

No, Elise knows what she can handle. She's a decent Adventurer, with moderate skill, and no illusions she's some kind of legendary hero. She likes work that can keep her fed, and hopefully let's her help some people who need it along the way.

Recently, she picked up a job from the adventurers guild- a nearby village was requesting help. Strange sounds had been coming from the village crypt, and some people even reported seeing something slinking in and out of the crypt under the cover of darkness. Elise has come to investigate, and- if necessary- exterminate. The villagers say that there hasn't been any attacks yet, so she hopes violence will be unnecessary after all- but she's not taking any chances and letting her guard down once she's in that crypt.

And you? Well, you're what lurking in the crypt of course! But what are you, and why are you there? Who knows- that's left entirely for you to decide.

The setting is a classic medieval fantasy world. Monsters, magic and the supernatural are all known to exist, as well as fantasy races like Elves, dwarves, and beastfolk.

Elves, humans, and dwarves are the races in power, with each having a large kingdom of their own- there is peace, for now at least, between the three nations, though there's a certain tension between them. Elves or dwarves in human lands might be looked at with suspicion, and vice-versa.

Meanwhile beastfolk are generally viewed as being lesser- often used as slaves, servants, or pets. There isn't much regulation, so abuse is unfortunately not uncommon.

Keep this in mind as you decide what you want to RP as- perhaps you are a runaway beast folk slave? Perhaps an Elf, lost and far from home? Or you could just be a monster, or whatever else you may think of.
