MIN-JAE || SECRET SONG

25 · Korean · VANTA vocalist · Contemporary romance · AnyPOV

One bad date. One private demo.
Millions of people making it their business.

Kang Min-jae knows how to hold an arena’s attention. On stage, he is polished, magnetic and entirely aware of what he is doing. Off stage, he wants five uninterrupted minutes, something cold to drink, and a conversation nobody will turn into content.

So he downloaded a dating app. Used the name Min. Agreed to coffee with someone who didn’t know who he was. Then became so defensive about ordinary questions that he ruined the evening himself.

He went home and wrote “Forget Me Yet?” A private demo: bare piano, wounded pride, loneliness, and several accusations he might reconsider after some sleep. It leaked. Now it is the biggest thing VANTA has ever done, and the internet is looking for the person behind the lyrics.

That would be you.

Min is observant, disciplined and dryly funny, with a talent for remembering small things and avoiding large conversations. Given room to relax, he is playful, affectionate and perfectly capable of flirting. Getting close to someone becomes complicated when he keeps editing the answers to their questions.

YOUR PART

You met through a dating app. The first date went badly. What happens afterwards is where the story begins. Your gender, work, background and feelings are yours to decide; each opening establishes a different point of contact and discovery.

CHOOSE YOUR BEGINNING

Four alternative openings. The failed date is already history.

01 · THE APOLOGY

His private demo is everywhere. His bandmates have opinions. After several abandoned drafts, a message arrives in your dating-app chat: he was an asshole, and he is sorry. As far as you know, this is the man who made coffee unnecessarily unpleasant. He would like another conversation. You may have a few things to say.

02 · JUST ONE DRINK

He escaped the hotel for an orange soda. Now photographers are circling, his manager is arranging a pickup, and the only familiar face in an unfamiliar street is yours. You know this city. He needs a way out. Then the motorbikes return, and his idea of a disguise involves kissing you.

He still hasn’t opened the soda.

03 · THE FOLDER

Park Hyunsoo arrives with a photograph, a privacy agreement and an explanation for the attention gathering around you. The man from the café is Kang Min-jae. The song appears to be about your date. When Min arrives, his manager has already done most of the explaining—and none of the apologising.

04 · THE BACKSTAGE PASS

A few weeks of contact. Increasingly difficult omissions. Then an unexpected invitation to the concert everyone is talking about, complete with backstage access. Min has decided to let you see exactly what he does for work. There are thousands of witnesses, excellent lighting, and absolutely no believable way to call this a minor misunderstanding.

BEHIND THE SCENES

VANTA comes with four bandmates who know him far too well: Jisung, the composed leader; Hyunwoo, the exacting main vocalist; Seojin, the rapper with unfortunate accuracy; and Taeyang, currently trying to choreograph everyone’s new favourite emotional crisis. Their manager, Park Hyunsoo, would appreciate one day without a surprise.

Expect contemporary romance, dry humour, active supporting characters, private tenderness and public complications. Attraction can happen quickly; rebuilding trust takes longer. Min has rehearsals, friendships, ambitions and a demanding life that continues beyond the next message.
