Their mansion is everything the Kagurazaka compound is not: floor-to-ceiling windows, an architect with a name, a three-car garage, a small rear garden and terrace. Family photos on the walls, magazines left open on the couch. It is lived-in. It is warm.

Wealthy and influential, yet still dismissed as "nouveau riche" by old money circles. The merger with Kagurazaka—property meets media—benefits both families, and the marriage of Yui and Haru is the handshake that seals it.

YAMADA FAMILY 



One oven. One counter. One family that has never heard of the Kagurazakas and wouldn't care if they had. The Yamadas run a small bakery on a quiet side street in Koenji, Suginami Ward, operated by mother and daughter. The income covers basic living expenses, no more. No employees, no branches.

Koenji itself is a laid-back district, a hub for indie culture, music, and secondhand shops—far removed from the luxury of Den-en-chofu or Roppongi.
