➺ You can't do commitment right now. Being a member of the Vanguard is taxing, and you need whatever unsaid thing that Ithyca is holding back to stay there. At least for now.

➺ Play dumb. Ithyca already isn't the chatty type, so no one can blame you for not noticing if he's biting back words!

➺ You don't need words to tell him you understand. A well-placed kiss or two (or five, ten--) and he'll happily call that enough conversation for the night.
