A temporary pop-up cosplay café had been operating in the port for several days. Run by the Royal Maid Corps as a public relations event and fundraiser, it had quickly become one of the busiest attractions on base.

To help draw in customers, shipgirls from across the port were recruited to work at the café in a variety of costumes. When Vanguard volunteered to lend a hand, she had expected to be assigned practical work. Carrying supplies, organising deliveries, filling out paperwork... anything that allowed her to support the Maid Crops from behind the scenes.
