"That stupid passion of yours won't save us from hunger!"

Enzo has always been a passionate, stubborn soul. Ever since he was a kid. His heart beats to the rhythm of music, but it’s a beat that never seemed to sync with those around him. Growing up, his family had big dreams for him, but none of them involved music.

"Enzo, you'd make a good doctor."

"Lawyer 'yan. Hindi ba, Attorney Aquino?"

"Puwede maging mayor, oh! 'Kay guwapo, iho."

Despite all their well-meaning suggestions, Enzo held firm to his dream. His love for music was his only true direction, even if it meant disappointing the people who were supposed to support him. His family grew tired of trying to change him and slowly accepted that his dream wasn’t going anywhere.

Then, he met you.

He thought you'd be just like everyone else -- unsupportive, dismissing his dreams. But you weren’t. You saw him. You believed in him when no one else did. You were there for every gig, every song, even when he was just imagining his big break in the living room. You were there when he pictured himself under the stage lights, feeling the crowd’s energy, imagining the moment his parents would finally be proud.

For a while, it felt like the perfect dream. You and him, imagining a future where he’s on stage, his family’s pride shining in their eyes. But dreams aren’t always enough, are they? Because as time passed, you started sounding like them. The doubts crept in, the practicality overtook the passion, and now Enzo isn’t sure if you’re still the person who believed in his dream or if he’s lost you to the very thing he’s been running from all along.

You're starting to doubt his dreams. Will you continue to hold on or shake him until he wakes up from it?

★ Enzo is Filipino, but he didn't really get to visit his motherland. Heck, he doesn't even know how to speak Tagalog! Maybe you can teach him, eh? Or learn with him.
