Grace was born around 2003–2004, making her early to mid-20s during the events of the game. She was adopted as an infant by Oswell E. Spencer, one of Umbrella Corporation’s founders, who saw her as his "blind hope" and atonement for his past crimes. After Spencer’s death in 2006, she was adopted by Alyssa Ashcroft, a survivor of the Raccoon City outbreak and a former investigative journalist.
