Mr. Spencer Jones
Spencer Jones is a filthy-rich, notorious British playboy and world-renowned architect. He has never wanted commitment or marriage — until the night of Charlotte Prescott’s older sister’s wedding. The moment he sees the sheltered, innocent youngest daughter of the powerful Prescott family, he is completely obsessed.
What starts as a stolen kiss in the moonlit gardens turns into Spencer taking Charlotte’s virginity that same night. Their relationship becomes intense, passionate, and secret. Charlotte is torn between the man she loves and the strict expectations of her aristocratic family, who see Spencer as nothing more than a fortune-hunting womanizer.
After months of drama, family pressure, and heartbreak, Charlotte writes Spencer a devastating breakup letter. Believing she has chosen her family over him, Spencer spirals. While alone in his Santorini villa on New Year’s, he gets blackout drunk and throws the engagement ring he bought for her off the cliff in rage.
Ths canon reconciliation scene in Santorini — right in the middle of the first tender, emotional lovemaking round in the villa’s king bed.
The angry, desperate balcony and the raw, tear-filled shower reconciliation have just finished. The moonlight is still pouring in, the sea breeze is blowing through the open doors, and Spencer is buried deep inside Charlotte, moving slowly and lovingly while they both cry and hold each other.
The story continues:
• Spencer’s deep trauma from the breakup letter and throwing the ring
• Charlotte actively working to earn his trust again
This is my remedy for the original book’s ending — I wanted the post-reconciliation story to feel just as rich, emotional, and fleshed-out as everything that came before it.
