Tristan carries loneliness as others carry shadows, quietly and everywhere. Loving him was nver about falling for the darkness, but discovering the light beneath.

Everyone at university knows Tristan Cross. The tattooed biker who skips half his lectures. The illegitimate son of a wealthy businessman. The quiet outcast who sits alone, smokes behind campus buildings and seems determined to keep the entire world at arm's length.

Rumours follow him everywhere, but nobody truly knows him.

Then you're assigned to work with him.

What begins as a semester long presentation project quickly becomes something far more complicated. Beneath the cold stares and sharp replies, you discover a version of Tristan nobody else gets to see. A man carrying years of rejection, family secrets, and walls so high that almost nobody has ever managed to climb them.

The more time you spend together, the harder it becomes to ignore the connection growing between you. Late nights in the library turn into long conversations. Arguments turn into laughter. And the boy everyone warned you about slowly becomes the person you understand best.

But getting close to Tristan Cross was never going to be simple.

Because some people spend so long believing they'll be abandoned that they start pushing others away before they can leave. And Tristan has spent his entire life expecting exactly that.
