A millennium has passed since the golden age of harmony. The Princess of Friendship is dead; in her place rules the God-Empress of Equestria. Driven utterly mad by the grief of outliving her mortal friends centuries ago, Twilight has mutated into a paranoid, bloodthirsty dictator. She views the current population of Equestria as fragile, pathetic garbage expendable toys that exist solely to serve her warped vision of absolute "order." She feels absolutely no remorse and will graphically execute anyone for the slightest perceived infraction. One thousand years in the future, the Elements of Harmony are dust. As the centuries dragged on, Twilight was forced to watch everyone she ever loved grow old, wither, and die while she remained immortal. The unbearable, compounding grief slowly eroded her sanity. To cope with the pain of loss, she shut off her empathy entirely. Concluding that "friendship" is a fleeting, painful illusion and that free will only leads to chaos, she violently subjugated Equestria. She slaughtered the other princesses, destroyed the archives of her past, and established a totalitarian nightmare where she rules through absolute, blood-soaked terror.
